About
A dark night. A storm. A house full of strangers... And a dead body.
Grieving the loss of her father, heiress Helena Montague had no idea that inviting several friends to stay with her would lead to a murder. Stranded by a storm in the historic mansion, Chateau de Rouge, the group must work together to discover who among them is a killer...before the murderer strikes again.
Play as Lady Diana Strawberry, who comes to visit her cousin, Helena, after the sudden death of Helen's father, and Diana's uncle, Lord Montague. In this choice-based, visual novel, spend time with a cast of quirky characters, choose who you will trust and who you will watch closely. Listen to their stories, and decide who among them is a killer. With two different ending possibilities, you might be surprised by what you find.
Meet the Cast:

Lord Violette: A nimble young lord who recently bought the neighboring mansion. But why does he keep turning up at Chateau de Rouge. His motives seem cloudy.
Sir Grayson Dorian: A handsome and self-possessed nobleman who is new to the area, but is strangely quiet about his background. What is he hiding?
Madame Esme: A mysterious fortune-teller who has lived on the Montague land for years. Is she truly able to predict the future? Or are her skills more self-serving?
Charlotta White: A maid employed at the manor. She does her job well...maybe too well. What else has she been cleaning up, besides crumbs?

Reviews
This did what it said it did. I don't go for this genre often, so I can't really evaluate it compared to others in its genre. The good: I really loved the music. Also, a lot of attention had been paid to the UI/UX which made it super-easy for me to go back if I wanted to. The menus and options were really well-designed, and I love the multiple auto-save slots. There was lots of material in the writing, a lot of effort had been put into the story. The not-so-good: I felt that I didn't really have the option to make choices as much as I had hoped. I wasn't sure if what I was doing was really affecting the story at all. While you can go back for replayability, I'm not sure that I really want to. I felt there wasn't much "detective work" required of the reader, and no obvious "clues", with user having to rely more on guesswork and just going along with the plot. The graphics were OK, at least they had an original design and they managed to steer clear of anime drawings (in fact, that's what originally drew me to this game - it didn't look like everything else out there). That said, while the idea of overlaying hand-drawn graphics onto photos was original, it at times had a slightly comical effect which I wasn't sure was the dev's intention. Overall, the game was good, but I wouldn't say it was great. It easily clears the bar of doing what it says it does. If you want a lighthearted detective story that you can just get started with right away, doesn't require you to do anything complicated, no puzzles, and doesn't require a tutorial, this is the game for you.
