About
Greetings Enforcer, and thank you for enlisting in the Hypnospace Patrol Department! As the corporatocracy sleeps, outlaws are out there committing terrible transgressions all across our beloved Hypnospace, and these virtual streets aren't going to police themselves!
Hypnospace Outlaw is a '90s internet simulator in which you scour Hypnospace's wide variety of weird and wonderful websites to hunt down wrongdoers, while also keeping an eye on your inbox, avoiding viruses and adware, and downloading a plethora of apps that may or may not be useful.
As part of your job as a Hypnospace Enforcer, you'll be watching out for copyright infringement, internet bullying and more, with reports and rewards coming direct from the Hypnospace Patrol Department to your inbox. In your spare time, you can customize your HypnOS desktop however you see fit, with a variety of downloads, wallpapers, screen savers and helper bots to keep you company.
So slip on your Hypnospace Headband™, and keep these key directives in mind:
Crawl through Cyberspace: Scour the darkest corners of the Web for scumbag users who violate Hypnospace law!
Dangers and delights: Download groovy GIFS and MIDI files, but watch out for adware, toolbars and hackers!
Treasure hunting: Do your job to earn Hypnocoins, or ignore your inbox and go hunting for hidden pages, downloads and secrets!
Relive your childhood: Equip obnoxious screensavers and skins for your desktop, and wiggle your mouse pointer around to make pages load faster!

这几年玩了很多类似的游戏后仍然觉得这款是00年复古互联网题材里做得最好的
Crashes quite frequently. When not crashing it is more of a trip to the worst era of early internet than an actual game. Feels like work actually. You get tasked to regulate a forum, browsing myspace like sites, each equally irrelevant and no interesting story evolving at all. I simply could not motivate myself to waste more time on this. I am aware of how this all plays out because after I gave up I had a look at a playthrough and still think it was the right decision to drop this early enough.
Somebody on the Neoboards recommended this to me over a year ago, and it feels thematically fitting that it was on the damn Neoboards. Game is very good, and I love all the little details added to customisation and all that, espec when they work with the gameplay.
There's a cool variety of music to find and download from exploring people's pages I found that fun to do. I also liked the Neil Cicierega rock stickers and littered my desktop with them.
cool game
i like!
Played this on Xbox during lockdown and loved it so much that I'm gladly replaying again. Wholly unique and somehow nostalgic.
This straight up blew me away, one of the best super late night games. I don't think theres a game that even comes close to scratching this itch while also being a game not a visual experience sorta thing
.
[strike]If you think $20 is too much for 1-2 days of entertainment, you'd be correct. Buy this game on sale, it's good enough to be worth buying, just not $20.[/strike] I was going to leave a positive review, but I've never played a game on this work PC that's actively crashed itself and/or my PC as frequently as this one. Actually even the difficult to render 3D games wouldn't ♥♥♥♥ my PC this bad, and this is a damn point and click adventure, it is appalling a game like this could even manage to run poorly, but at times it does, and that ruins the experience. EDIT: I've never in my life played a game on any system that has crashed steam and forced it into an infinite boot loop requiring a PC restart. I rescind my first statement, stay tf away from this game.
