Not a big fan TBH. I really liked Hyperspace Dogfights by the same dev, but this game needs some work IMHO. I have a few gripes: 1. The skills and abilities aren't really intuitive, so I have to click each one and wait for the stuff to pop up. I think I know how much damage I will be dealing or receiving in the next round, but I lose ships or overkill enemy ships when there are bigger targets. 2. I have to scroll up and down a lot just to get my bearings mid-fight. 3. The ships have some cool variety, but when I am trying to survive as long as possible, the change-ups before the mission starts takes a lot of looking, (back to point 1) All that being said, moving the ships around and putting shields out is pretty fun. So I am just annoyed with the UI in general.
complex card game with good music

good
TLDR: a fun and deep mix of FTL and Slay the Spire, with incredibly flexible mechanics and gameplay. This is a hidden gem, and worth your time. Even in a world where STS 1 AND 2 exist, this holds its own with unique, interesting, effective, and fun mechanics that build and function perfectly together in a ways that you almost don't expect until they hit you in the face. And the best part? The enemies play by the exact same rules you do. Your broken mechanics can be turned against you, and some fights are straight up unfair if you're not prepared. Better luck next time, don't shoot the minefield, or ANYTHING WITH RETALIATE. ahem. Be warned, the learning curve is steep but rewarding. There were many points along my journey already that I felt hopeless, or like a certain encounter was just impossible with the best tools I had found at that point. Thing was, I was always either using them wrong, misunderstanding the tactics, or skipping over the really good cards I had never tried before. Trust me, there are so many combinations you can really make anything work if you try (and also understand what all the buffs/debuffs do, it takes a minute). 9/10, Fun, intriguing, re-playable to the nines, will get blown up again o7.
good
very cool deckbuilder. pretty tough but there's a lot of interesting mechanics
This is an insanely, absurdly, idiotically good game, and it's actually criminal that it - or Sleeper Games' other titles, for that matter - isn't better known. A very interesting spin on the deckbuilding genre with dual use cards, unit/effect differentiation, and countdown manipulation. I've put ten hours in, and I haven't made it past the first set of cards. I can easily see losing another ninety hours into the title - something I haven't felt since first picking up Slay the Spire.
Has a bit of a steep learning curve but it's very worth it. There's a surprising amount of strategic depth in how you can play cards and manage your fleet, and it's incredibly satisfying once it finally clicks. I also really enjoy the artstyle and music
Instead of managing a hand, you manage a fleet. Instead of managing energy, you manage time. Play Hyperspace Deck Command, save the galaxy.
