I personally find the game a fun waste of time. If you are lookin to kill time between some classes or somthing play a run or two, heavily rng based so a run can get a good run where u kill the final boss with ease or have trouble with the first boss
The good: -looks good -nice soundtrack -lovely humor The bad: -you'll mostly see the same handful of enemies -rooms take too long to clear, you think you're done but here comes the second wave on spongy enemies. And if you're unlucky, enjoy having enemies with shield. -boss fights are the worst I've ever seen : sluggish they only have 2-3 patterns at most, and way too much health. -attachements for your weapon are bland. Your gun will always feel like a peashooter, and some of the attachements will nerf your gun so bad that some classes become unplayable. -horrible level "design". Rooms feel both too cramped and too big for their own good. Oh, and there are traps and random architecture, just to further reduce the space you have for dodging. Ain't that great ? -you'll get absolutely cheesed by some enemies. I wanted to like this game, but as it stands, I cannot recommend it. It's slow, lacks variety, punch, and makes me want to quit the game past the 3rd level out of sheer boredom. I sometimes do. Run away and never look back, this game has little to offer. Almost two years later, nothing has changed. Still the same rooms with traps to reduce your available space, still the same multiple waves , still no punch in your weapons, boss fight are still a chore... Run away from this game, it is not worth its price whatsoever. Update: Game is dead and bugged to the core. Run away.
tl;dr Good: Fast paced action that handles well, dry humor a la Borderlands, randomized weapon parts is a novel concept that I quite like. Very challenging. Also $10 cheaper than Mothergunship, which it's pretty much in direct competition with. Bad: Items often counteract each other, levels get a bit repetitive and bosses are always the same. Limited pickups not a great choice for a roguelite. I wrote a full review while the game was still in early access, and some of the info is no longer accurate. The most notable change is that now you can see what items will do before you pick them up, which actually corrects my biggest complaint about the game.
Game got mega hard with the last update. I did my best to play through the game a bit, but got flustered after a bit. It's an awesome idea, but just needs flushed out a bit. Neon Abyss is a simpler but more fun version for gun augments :) https://youtu.be/TGM9lDeHDh0

This game is actually underrated, honestly Game is fine, feels like TBOI but with a different apporach This game offer you same mechanics, like:

Pick ups
Usables
Attachments
Shops
Treasure rooms
Characters with their own abilities
Before buying on release, I have red a few reviews and could not really believe them, because most of them were saying, that the game was bad. The issues people were mentioning that the game was, somewhere short, level design is kinda not good, enemies are the same, and that there are chests that need a key, which you dont always have, etc. They have reviewed it like there will no longer be any updates, even tho it just came out, come on ffs I'll try to defend this game, which is not usually welcome, but I dont give a ♥♥♥♥ anyway, so:
I will compare this game to TBOI, because they are similiar somewhat
1) TBOI also have keys and ♥♥♥♥, that dont always drop, especially when you need them, same goes to health, shields, and coins (bits for this game, at least) 2) Level design is O.K, not good but not bad either, you can move around, jump around - thats all you need 3) If you've played TBOI - you sure as hell know that enemies there are also repetitive and annoying at times that they appear again and again and again, theres nothing wrong with that, even tho, I am pretty sure that they will add more enemies in the future, so in the next updates you can complain about that you hate new enemies, so it will go on and on. 4) The game lenght - the game showed me how much time I spent completing each level, and, well it had the same lenght I used to spend when I was going full Isaac run to the chest or dark room. So, cant really say the game is short at all. 5) At last, graphics - they are nice looking, and does not cause any lag, I played with 90+ fps constantly, thats all I need, personally. Some people were mentioning that the game was lagging. I could not find anything like that and I was playing on High+ custom settings and my computer is older than some peoples brains, who were telling that it was not optimized well. I can actually nitpick evey review but thats the things I got quite angry at, when people mentioned them, because they are freaking snowflakes, who need instant 99 keys, 99 bits and cant aim for ♥♥♥♥.
Here comes my problems with the game, so dont worry, angry doggies, I do have them too
1) Bullets do not come thru the surfaces - projectiles do, and thats the most annoying ♥♥♥♥ I have encountered in this game, I do hope its some sort of a bug or unseen thing that will be fixed 2) Each time you get hit the screen gets so blurred, you cant see at all, and thats quite disorienting. Example: you step on a lava while shooting at boss or whatever, your screen shows you that you are hit but you dont understand what hit you, and, while standing in lava, the screen gets more and more distorted, it gets messy, a lot 3) Needs more bosses, they are ok and stuff, but it would be nice if you could have a boss rotation, so there is always something new each time you enter the boss room, dont know if its planned to be 1 same boss for floor or not. 4) Jumping feels more like swimming in air, rather than flying, maybe its just me. I just want more strict collision with ground and walls. I recommend this game, dont listen to the other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, thanks for attention
most of the time no double jump, hitboxes are just fking off, bullets hitting target but do not register damage, how does this happen? shoud've just refunded this game
