Last reinc: Oct 17 2008 (6003 days ago), spent a ton of time in this game ages ago, and my character is still there \o/
I started playing this game in 2003 and have spent countless of hours into it. Sure I have kept some breaks but I've always come back to it at some point, that is how good it is. Even the modern games can't keep me away with their graphics as the best graphical processor is your own imagination.

So many years passed from MUDs golden era and this game alive and very active! Modern games provide just few hours of gameplay due focusing on graphics and music, but MUD focuses on unleashing your fantasy and so tens of thousands hours passed without noticing.
Forever game, immersing, good people, endless.
I finally feel compelled to write a review of BatMUD after all of my time spent with it, and the community. I will start this by saying that I began BatMUD with ZERO nostalgia factor involved (aside from Zork influence.) I am young, especially young for the MUD playerbases, but I still found a sense of enjoyment and infatuation when it came to BatMUD. What you are essentially paying for here, is the client for the game. Is it worth it? At $5? Absolutely. The support and features that have been added on the client side are extremely helpful and worth it for newbies. If you eventually reach a point where you feel there "isn't enough" I can assure you that there are plugins you can add yourself. You could even make your own! Many people point out the Task Points situation. The "pay-to-win" where donating "levels" your character by allowing a player to spend given points from payments to put into their character. And of course, it's an incentive. All companies need to make money. The game needs to stay afloat some how. But it is BY NO MEANS required, or shoved in the face of the player. NOR IS IT SIGNIFICANT IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THE GAME. There is no one running around 10 times stronger than every other player, simply because they donated 10 times more. The topic itself is actually quite hidden, and I didn't even encounter it until around my 300 hour mark of playtime. Next is the community: As far as MUDs go, BatMUD is still very much alive. There is a friendly and dedicated playerbase. One that knows a great deal and that is willing to help newbies at anytime. They hold in life events all across the globe (occasionally), and are always happy to chat! A great group of open minded people. The game: Yes. It is complex. It is "difficult." (It depends on your idea of difficult.) It is grindy. But it is also entirely up to you. You can truly do, whatever you want in this game, and absolutely no one will stop you. BatMUD is a complex, intriguing, aggravating, funny, stupid game. It is meant to be played as such. It is fun. The world is entirely built by players. Everything you do, hold, sell, buy, or see, was written by someone, somewhere. There are things to do. If you enjoy reading, if you enjoy fantasy, if you enjoy pop culture, any of these things, you will find a place in BatMUD. It is a wonderful game, in a content rich world, and it is deserving of all of the time that people have put into it. I truly would never recommend another game to anyone, as much as I recommend BatMUD.
好游戏,可惜不能单机玩。
Game requires you to try different reincarnation combinations in order to do well. Some of those combinations cost money. Game is slow going and you can get lost in it for years. Many lifetimes worth of content in less you wiz and I suppose learn it all
its one of the best ones, I like it when I first time entered start of 2000 and its still nice^^
