In this chibi-style* strategy role-playing game you'll amass an army of game-referencing allies, fight on trap-laden maps, and beef up Lily Rank for crazy damage. But look out for status ailments or you might be (literal) tofu! You ain't seen the Neptunia characters like this before!

i hate this game. good if you want to make out with noire, though. i'm more of a nep girl.
Noire is a bad main heroine. Game should have been about Neptune. Dont get me wrong i like Noire, but, i think she is more fitting for the secondary roles.
Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart is a tactical spin-off that shifts Neptunia into a grid-based strategy RPG with Noire as the lead. It keeps the franchise’s light, self-aware tone, but the main appeal is seeing familiar characters filtered through a more methodical, turn-planning style of gameplay. If you like SRPGs and you already enjoy Neptunia’s cast, it can be a pleasant change of pace. Battles play out on compact maps where positioning and turn order matter more than flashy combos. You move units, manage ranges, and try to set up safe engagements while avoiding being surrounded. The pace is generally approachable rather than hardcore, but it still rewards basic tactical thinking, especially when enemy formations punish careless advances. A notable hook is how character interactions and relationships feed into combat effectiveness. You’re encouraged to bring certain allies together and pay attention to synergy, which gives the party-building side a purpose beyond raw stats. It also fits the series well: the game treats bonds, banter, and team dynamics as both story fuel and gameplay incentive. Narratively, it’s very much a character-driven side story, with Noire’s personality—serious, proud, easily flustered—carrying many scenes. The humor is familiar: fourth-wall winks, genre jokes, and playful exaggeration of character traits. Expect a lot of dialogue, and understand that the plot mainly exists to move you between battles and character moments rather than to deliver a big dramatic arc. Where the game can stumble is repetition and balance. Map objectives and encounter flow can start to feel similar, and difficulty spikes sometimes come from enemy numbers or specific gimmicks rather than steadily escalating tactical complexity. If you’re hoping for the tight map design and layered systems of the genre’s best, this lands closer to “fan-focused SRPG” than “strategy masterpiece.” Presentation-wise, it leans on character art, portraits, and light animation, with a bright, anime-forward look that matches the franchise. The soundtrack and effects do their job, but the visual emphasis remains on the cast rather than on detailed battlefields. Like many Neptunia entries, fanservice and suggestive humor are present, so your tolerance for that will strongly influence how much you enjoy the overall package. Overall, Hyperdevotion Noire works best as a side dish for Neptunia fans who want more Noire and don’t mind a smaller-scale SRPG structure. It offers fun moments of tactical planning and plenty of character-centric scenes, but it’s unlikely to convert someone who dislikes the series’ tone or wants top-tier strategy design. Taken on its own terms, it’s a decent, cozy spin-off with a different gameplay flavor.
Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart – A Fresh and Fun SRPG Spin-Off
Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart takes the beloved Neptunia universe in a bold new direction, swapping the usual turn-based combat for a strategic RPG experience—and it works surprisingly well. While longtime fans might miss Neptune’s antics, Noire shines as the lead in this charming and surprisingly deep tactical adventure. A Refreshing Change of Pace The biggest departure from the mainline Neptunia games is the shift to grid-based SRPG gameplay. Battles are no longer about spamming attacks but carefully positioning units, exploiting elemental weaknesses, and mastering the Lily Boost system, where allies "peck" each other on the cheek to enhance abilities. It’s quirky, fun, and adds a layer of strategy that keeps combat engaging. The level design is a standout, with creative hazards like traps, destructible terrain, and enemy ambushes forcing players to think ahead. One mission might have you defusing bombs while dodging turrets, while another pits you against waves of enemies in an electrified arena. The main story missions are particularly well-crafted, though some side quests feel repetitive by comparison. Noire Takes the Spotlight (And She’s Great) Noire has always been a fan favorite, and Hyperdevotion gives her the attention she deserves. Her tsundere personality is as entertaining as ever, and the new cast of game-inspired generals—like the Metal Gear-esque Lid and the mischievously lewd Resta—adds fresh humor and references. The writing retains the series’ signature self-aware parody, though the overarching plot is still fairly lighthearted and predictable. Visuals, Voice Acting, and Fan Service The chibi-style battle models are adorable, and the 2D character art is as vibrant as ever. The game also keeps the series’ tradition of dual audio, with both English and Japanese voice acting delivering strong performances. Of course, this is a Neptunia game, so expect plenty of fan service—some of it amusing, some of it… well, very Compile Heart. Room for Improvement While the core gameplay is solid, the side missions lack the creativity of the main campaign, often boiling down to simple "kill all enemies" objectives. The story, while fun, doesn’t break new ground for the series, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly. Still, the "Easier, Please!" option (which lets you weaken enemies after a loss) helps keep frustration at bay. Final Verdict Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart is a fantastic spin-off that proves the Neptunia franchise can thrive outside its usual JRPG format. The SRPG mechanics are well-executed, the humor lands more often than not, and Noire’s leading role is a welcome change. If you’re a fan of strategy RPGs or just love the series’ charm, this is an easy recommendation. Score: 8/10 A smart, fun, and refreshing take on the Neptunia formula—Noire’s time to shine doesn’t disappoint.
its bad Very grindy, boring and unbalanced at times.
