Really wanted to believe in this project but it’s just not happening at this point. They bit off more than they could chew with this game. Should’ve just made a more faithful sequel/successor to the first game instead of chasing trends. it’s not worth the money now and I doubt it will be when the last update hits, but I’d love to eat my words.
Why am I getting 70-80 FPS on a 5080 with stuttering???? This game doesn't look NEARLY good enough to justify this performance. I really really hope they turn the game around, I wanted to buy it to show my support because I think the concept is really cool, I like the art design and characters a lot and the gameplay seemed *decent* but holy crap the game shouldn't be running like this considering what it is.

Mismanagement and bad decision making lead this potentially awesome game to be abandoned by the devs without being complete. Do not buy this.
One of those unfortunate stories of potential that never got to shine. The concept of a roguelike open-world has potential, but too many elements make Hyper Light Breaker* a frustrating experience. Whereas a roguelike typically meets your failures with incremental progress, here it doesn't feel like a run ever achieves anything. The initial progression has been incredibly frustrating, with the combat system dishing out a lot more damage than you're able to dodge, parry, mitigate or heal back. Which is typical for a roguelike, I'll admit, but the speed at which your health bar gets torn apart is wild even for the genre. As of 4 days ago, development has been cancelled completely, so the version we have right now is all we're ever gonna get. I really wanted to like this. EDIT - Corrected the name of the game, whoops
This game is abandoned in a technically playable state, but it only feels like a missed potential.
this game is genuinely good. it didn't deserve majority of the hate it got and it honestly brings so much to the rouge like genre that most games can't. im really hoping this game sees some kinda development soon :c
The game has improved massively during its early access and many systems now make more sense and feel far better to play with. I'm very much looking forward to where this game goes.
*violent sobbing*
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!! DO NOT EVEN PIARTE IT!! heart machines ceos laid off all of their employees to maximize profit off this scam of a game. the game will never come out of EA bc there is nobody left to finish it. thats not even mentioning the HORRIBLE fps and gameplay. the game was marketed as a coop extraction shooter that is also a rougelike they lost all the extraction elements and just made a RoR2 clone, a bad one at that. DO NOT BUY OR PLAY THEY CEOS DONT DESERVE YOUR MONEY OR TIME THIS GAME SUCKS.
