Hospitalize by name, hospitalized (in development terms) by nature.
It seemed like this game had so much promise. It was going to satisfy an itch that had lingered since Theme Hospital. However, this was posted today on their Discord by one of the developers: "Basically, we don't have anyone to work on the game, so until then it's pretty much on hold. It sucks, but that's the gist of it :/" It's sad, and given the other hospital management games that have been released in the last year, I doubt there will be much motivation to put any more work into this. Although it's relatively playable in it's current form, there are frustrating bugs that eventually kill the experience (expected, given that it's early access and never completed). Try "Two Point Hospital" if you're looking for the spiritual successor of Theme Hospital, or "Project Hospital" if you're looking for a more serious approach.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!! THIS GAME HAS BEEN ABANDONED BY THE DEVELOPERS AND IS PURELY A WASTE OF MONEY FOR US AS CONSUMERS AND JUST SOME EASY CASH FOR THE DEVELOPERS!
Abandoned game
Game is abandoned. Buy Project Hospital instead.
Game is abandoned by devs
Initially bought this game because it showed promise. In the meantime the devs have abandoned this game (for almost 2 years now) and multiple -more advanced- hospital games have been released.
The playability of this game is seriously moving in the wrong direction. with the inception of departments, in which you can only have 6 employees, and the inception of shifts, you are limited to having 3 nurses and 3 doctors to open your clinic. Those 3 nurses cant have all of the specialties required to have a fully operational clinic. Meaning you need (minimum) 9 nurses to have all of the skills. That's 3 departments, but wait, those departments can't overlap treatments. unreasonable. so now, you really need a department for each symptom to be productive and that means spending all of your money on salary.
Unfinished and abandoned.
I had my time with it, but I never was really happy with the game. Since it is not receiving updates any more, i cannot recommend Hospitalize. I was never able to build a big hospital because of bugs, mechanics or whatever. So: Thumbs down...
