Purchased this in a sale - great game for the price. I can see why people might not be happy with this game on release. The game has few maps, the ones that are in the game are very long playing maps leading to game fatigue. Lacking in variety of game maps, mainly seek and destroy or survive, not much else. Overall good experience but the campaign is far too short and lacks diversity in map achievements.
Really nice prequel to the original games.... my only complaint is the stupid Epic Installer but there's a way around that

I felt nostalgic about the classic homeworld playing this game, but I have to admit it has its own identity. Despite it doesn't shine like the original, It's fun to deploy your ground forces in the desert and squeeze enemy detachments in a pincer maneuver. Good graphics, good plot. 7.5/10

It's one of my favourite games of all time. The vehicles are insanely cool - especially the artillery cruiser and those giant landers that always blow up. Those are my favourites. I also found the whole concept of giant land crawlers travelling deep into an uncharted desert is incredibly inspiring; and while I've never normally cared about music, in this game it's a highlight. I honestly do wish they did a little more with the campaign though. The expedition guide gave a lot of really interesting information that I wish made it into the story. I also would have liked the Soban or the Kanneph to make an appearance, or at least some other kind of enemy. I also wished the Sakala remained your ally throughout the entire game, most of my favourite missions involved working alongside them. Otherwise, I honestly would recommend this game to anyone I meet. In fact, I already have done on multiple occasions. 9/10, well worth the £3 I spent for it.
