Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TLDR: IF its on sale THEN I'd say get it. But be prepared as it is no Homeworld 1 or 2. The game is 'ok'. The campaign missions were short. The campaign itself was short. The only section that felt like mission from the first two homeworlds or even deserts was when I ran through a War Games mission. And even then you're stuck with just a carrier, frigates, corvettes, and strikecraft. Even playing the capture fleet you can't capture anything bigger than you can make. As others say building an actual fleet and thinking about how each unit pairs up is pretty minimal. Spam torpedo frigates and repair ships. Even in the campaign you barely need anything bigger until maybe the last mission.
If you want to know why this game is so terrible, |Google how Imogen initially looked to how she does in the finished product. Nothing good here at all really. The plot is awful. Nothing enriches the universe at all. The main three characters are dull and boring. Not recommender unless you buy it dirt cheap just to see how bad it is.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Short, but satisfying enough. Not nearly as bad as the other reviews make it sound. $25 is probably fair for what you get out of this. Not worth $60. It's an okay send off for the series that most people had already forgotten. It does leave things open for a continuance. I don't think there will be one. On the gameplay side, fleets are still clunky and their decisions on when to engage frustrate and annoy, as does their introduction of the stealth mechanics which are required to complete the campaign. Long story short it's a bad implementation that makes some units take long paths and others take short paths, some end up exposed, some are not, your fleet is split, half the people die, and you save scum (again) because your men won't follow orders and want to go red turrets and frigates and stuff. But when it works and you learn how to 'ball' properly it's pretty glorious. Just easy to lose that effectiveness. Gameplay 6/10 Story 5/10 Sound 8/10 Graphics 8/10 Overall: 6.8 I would like to offer some hints for fleet management that greatly improved my gameplay experience: Repair ships set to aggressive, guarding the lead ships, so they can freely reposition to address nearby critical units. Micromanagement of repair ships during intense engagements, and using slower gameplay speed during these times to facilitate. A diverse fleet. Destroyers leading assault/torpedo frigate groups, flanked by railgun corvettes, backed by stealth bombers grouped with interceptors, supported by repair ships, with a carrier nearby for fighter replenishment. Scan probes lighting up targets for torpedo frigate strike groups. This is highly potent and efficient large target destruction. Re-deployble (per mission) anti fighter turrets to baby sit your resource collectors. Wedge formation for all capital ships and frigate groups. No formation for fighter groups. Frequent issuance of the dock command for fighter groups to keep them A) topped up and B) leashed to your fleet.
I waited until this game was on deep discount, but I didn't wait long enough. Homeworld 3 is a major disappointment. The story is weak, rushed, and has almost no meaningful character development. The cutscenes are surprisingly bad, with stiff faces, hair that is frozen in water, poor emotional delivery, and visuals that feel far below what this series deserves. The in-game graphics are fine, but nothing special. Even maxed out, the game looks mediocre and does not capture the scale or atmosphere that made Homeworld great. The biggest issue is that it does not feel like Homeworld. The mystery, loneliness, desperation, and grand strategy are mostly gone. Even on sale, I cannot recommend it.
3rd World ideas.
Just keep playing HW2 and save yourself from this abortion. Coming from a HW and HW2 lover, I'm severely disappointed
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, bad controls, bad auto formations, no ability to speed up or slow down commands. A ship can build, the mothership can be getting hit, but the ships won't move until you change the stance and there's nothing you can do to change. I don't' get how this was never fixed.
25 people playing homeworld 3 today 21/08/25. Single player finished in 6 hours. Thats it.
Remember Homeworld 1? Remember (Cataclysm)? Remember Homeworld 2? Want more of it? I'm sorry, but this isnt it. looks and sounds great, but thats pretty much all it has to offer. if you have to have it, wait for a big sale but dont set your expectations too high. If i had to describe the game's "feel", it would be like a soup, cooked by too many chefs, which are only in for the money and not the cooking, following too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥ trends at the same time. If this is what can be pumped out for the franchise, please just let it die.
Beautiful game though it lacks a lot, good thing i bought whole collection for 12 euros. Wargames is nice though nobody plays this game multi is empty, AI for skirmish is broken and bad. Could use a polish, but i am not sure the devs still care.
