Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Although in the past I have largely praised Homeworld titles, this one cannot continue that decisive view. This game is not only DOA it is also more unpolished than the prior ones. The music is outright bad and the plot is barely there. I cant manage to claim a single factor in this game that is better than the previous titles. Even if the graphics look nice, the new maps are all some destroyed - derelict ship or station which becomes really stale. This also somehow makes the path finding somehow even more terrible that it already is. I cant find anything redeeming or fun about this game. I like the new game mode war-games but it is extremely unfair and unbalanced. In my opinion I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this game at retail or even half price.
Old HW fan here, i've played all of them when they appeared... except HW3..... To say it's the worst is an understatement.... It has a few O)Kish things, but mostly, very disappointed on how this was developed... :(

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Great! I played the first two when they came out years ago, and this is a solid successor. Its doesn't seem as re-playable to me, but I'm older, and Homeworld 1 and 2 were new back then. There is an interesting additional game mode, but the same skirmish and multiplayer are back, with an additional game mode where you're given a small, persistent fleet to complete a string of missions. I prefer the large scale in the skirmish battles, though. Gameplay is essentially the same as it's always been, with some addition ways to take advantage of the environment - such as hiding units behind an asteroid, or traversing a tunnel in a space station a la Star Wars. The 3D nature of the gameplay is still standout - the Z axis is almost the star of the show! The visuals are great, with good graphics and memorable mission maps. Shiny ships, gleaming guns, realistic battle damage - ah Homewolrd! It is, ironically, much more atmospheric than ever. That's not to say that it's distracting - but you get to do battle in some beautiful places. I'm not sure what further DLC/FLC content will be made available, but what's in the base game is worth it for me. To those not familiar with Homeworld, it's a solid, flashy RTS that emphasizes battle tactics over tech and economy.
Look... I really like previous Homewords, mostly because they are complicated and need you to think what you do. Also because they treat you like a fully functioning adult that can learn and make decisions. This game... even tutorial treats you like you were an Idiot. And when i saw how mindless the starfights are i gave up. What happened to units dogeing and tryint not to get hit? now they just fly straight at enemy, shooting, turn around and do the same again until one side dies...
im never preordering a game ever again
I confirm what others wrote. As I'm playing homeworld mainly for campaing, this is dissapoining chapter of homeworld... As other wrote, main problems are throw-away story, small map locations and somewhat stupid navigation (+ QOL irritation with commands and fleets - you just cant create fleet and replenish it after/during battle) First 2/3 of the game was passable, but last part dropped under the floor, especially ending. BBI created Dessert of Karrak, so the team know how to make good RTS, but it seems that they throw away all good ideas during creation. Ships and backgfraound was good, but was not enough if the scale was this small. Don't buy unless on disscount
TLDR: IF its on sale THEN I'd say get it. But be prepared as it is no Homeworld 1 or 2. The game is 'ok'. The campaign missions were short. The campaign itself was short. The only section that felt like mission from the first two homeworlds or even deserts was when I ran through a War Games mission. And even then you're stuck with just a carrier, frigates, corvettes, and strikecraft. Even playing the capture fleet you can't capture anything bigger than you can make. As others say building an actual fleet and thinking about how each unit pairs up is pretty minimal. Spam torpedo frigates and repair ships. Even in the campaign you barely need anything bigger until maybe the last mission.
for fu,,,, sake they could at least spare homeworld frinchise
If you want to know why this game is so terrible, |Google how Imogen initially looked to how she does in the finished product. Nothing good here at all really. The plot is awful. Nothing enriches the universe at all. The main three characters are dull and boring. Not recommender unless you buy it dirt cheap just to see how bad it is.
