About
Welcome, new employee.
You are now CEO,
because your predecessor vanished,
and everyone else was fired.
Oh, and an artificial intelligence now controls the company.
Rebuild and expand into the weakened Eurozone, at all costs.
Make pacts with shadow economy thieves, free market globalists, parasitic unions
or wealth-extracting aristocrats.
Good luck, and try not to get fired.
Adapt your character for survival in the firestorm of the free market, from the versatile Office Drone to the financial wizard Investment Banker or sneaky Corporate Spy.

Use friendly acquisitions or hostile takeovers to expand our corporate empire into the weakened Eurozone, build facilities, hire (or fire) thousands of employees.
Drink coffee to increase your focus, evolve your brain with paranoia or euphoria, use your emotions in speech checks against other characters.
Every action, substance or thing you say impacts your mental state, allowing you to transcend into the being the company aspires you to be.
Deal with artificial intelligences trying to control companies, transhumanists striving for pharmaceutical immortality and virtual consciousness clones.

Surprisingly, extremely engaging. Somehow scratches exactly the itch I have for this type of games. Well developed, quite mature experience, so far. A LOT of micromanagement, but that's where I actually like it. It is a mix of economic manager, RPG in a sense that you play a role you choose and manipulate "skills" and "stats" of your "party", and kind of visual novel - the story is interesting, characters are deep, humorous and not preachy, lots of irony. Your path is yours, be anyone you want to be and follow any ideology you can think of - there is a path for you to choose. Micromanagement don't need to be extreme, the game is pretty generous with deadlines and profits, it's up to you to decide how much of a perfectionist you want to be. Somehow, it reminds me of Terra Invicta - not by gameplay, but the overall feeling of controlling characters, sending them to missions, growing them and building your own story with it. Definitely recommend. Definitely better than I thought it would be.
Holonoptic pulls off something rare, it actually earns the "sim meets story" label instead of just slapping the two together. The UI is a bit of a mess though. The systems are modular enough that you can already see a dozen directions this could expand. If the devs keep supporting it, this could go from "good with rough edges" to something genuinely special. I'm writing this review to support the game and give it a bit of a boost, it really deserves it.
