Hollow Knight is my favorite game of all time. It was Elden Ring but HK took back its spot. I like it a lot more than Silksong. Silksong is amazing and my game of year 2025 but going back to HK feels a lot better. I played HK early 2019 on Switch and loved it. I was mad that I couldn’t get 112%. 111% and I just couldn’t beat Pantheon 4. I stopped playing at 75 hours. I got 112% now and it feels so good. Back then I got 110% (everything except Pantheon 3/4) at 57 hours. This time it took 30 hours for 110%. I went through the game way faster this time. The charms are so much better than Silksong’s crest system. In Silksong it was so limiting that you could only have the red ones in the red spot. In Silksong the crest I used was the Wanderer Crest. It had 2 red, blue, and yellow spots. I didn’t use the red tools so wished I could have more blue instead. Most of the tools in Silksong really don’t seem that good. You could say that about some HK charms but I feel like there are a lot more interesting combinations with the charms. There needs to be more fast travel points. The backtracking can get a bit tedious. The only place that you can sell the sellable items is a long way from a fast travel point. Every boss here actually gives you something. Even if it’s just money at least you got some kind of reward. In Silksong most of the bosses don’t give you anything but open the path to the next area. It feels a bit lacking. You beat a boss then just nothing. It doesn’t bother me in other games when the boss just opens the next area but something about Silksong feels a bit empty. Best boss in the game is Nightmare King Grimm. Way harder than any of the other bosses. Really fun fight and the best song in the game. I did Path of Pain this time. I didn’t try it back then. Not too bad except for the last room and that took an hour. Almost lost at the thing right after that. It sucks that there’s no achievement. Pantheon 5 has one and that is way harder but Path of Pain does not. I don’t have all the achievements. Pantheon 5 is the only one I don’t think I can get. Maybe one day I’ll try Steel Soul and the speedrun ones. RANT ABOUT PANTHEON 3 The first time Pantheon 3 took 6 hours and this time it took me 7 hours. It’s 10x harder than anything in Silksong (I have a 100% save) and it was just making me mad. I kept getting close and losing near the end. There were other parts that made me a bit mad and annoyed but nothing like the rage that P3 was giving me. It takes 15-20 minutes to get to the end and the last boss has a 2x attack and a phase two that’s really hard to deal with. I can do it in the practice room but spending over 15 minutes to get to the boss only to have a few slip ups and have to wait another 15 minutes to try again. Pantheon 4 is way easier. After 3 or 4 tries I got to the last boss every time at full health in about 10 minutes. The last boss is crazy hard so it still took me 3 hours. I only got the last boss of P3 at full health like once.
