Reviews
"Holdfast: Nations At War," developed and published by Anvil Game Studios, is a unique and wonderfully chaotic multiplayer first and third-person shooter that drops you into the massive, smoke-filled battlefields of the Napoleonic era. With its distinct blend of historical setting, community-driven roleplay, and the utterly absurd situations that arise from its proximity voice chat, it offers a multiplayer experience that is as hilarious as it is immersive. The game's greatest strength is its community and the sheer, unscripted madness it enables. In an era where teamwork is paramount, the ability to hear your own commander screaming orders through a megaphone, your allies blaring period-appropriate music, and the chaotic roar of a bayonet charge creates a sense of camaraderie and fun that is rarely matched. The core gameplay loop, involving slow-reloading muskets, a straightforward melee system, and the need to coordinate with dozens of players, creates a distinct and refreshing tactical challenge. However, the experience is not for everyone. Proximity chat, while often hilarious, can be heavily abused by players spamming noise or trolling, which can quickly ruin the immersion. Additionally, the aiming mechanics feel somewhat imprecise and take time to adjust to, which can be frustrating for new players. Fortunately, the servers are consistently well-populated and run smoothly, ensuring that you can always find a match. Pros: -A uniquely hilarious and chaotic community experience built around proximity voice chat and roleplay. -Large-scale, 150+ player battles with a great variety of classes, including musicians and officers, that encourage teamwork. -Simple, accessible combat mechanics that are easy to learn but offer depth in coordination. -Servers are consistently populated and run smoothly, ensuring a reliable online experience. Cons: -Proximity chat is easily abused, with players spamming noise or trolling, which can ruin the experience. -Aiming mechanics feel imprecise and require significant adjustment, especially for new players. -The simple combat mechanics may not appeal to players seeking deeper, more complex systems. Overall, "Holdfast: Nations At War" is a fantastic, community-driven multiplayer experience, perfect for players looking for a historically themed shooter that prioritizes fun and player interaction over mechanical depth. While it has its flaws—particularly with chat abuse and imprecise aiming—the consistently populated servers and unforgettable, laugh-crying moments it delivers make it a genuinely special and worthwhile experience. 7.8/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very Fun to do
106 hours in and I have a complicated relationship with this game. The line battles, coordination, and absolute madness driven by proximity chat make for some of the most uniquely hilarious and cinematic multiplayer moments you can find anywhere. When you get a good group or an officer who actually commands the line, it’s peak gaming. That said, be prepared for clunky mechanics, unpredictable melee combat, and plenty of mic-spam chaos. It's rough around the edges, but if you embrace the roleplay and community spirit, it's an absolute blast. Recommended, but with a grain of salt!
sick game, i got bonesmashing
