a mixed bag. There is no gameplay, it's a mostly narrative experience but it still needs you to do some actions and camera movement, most of those are not really fun and tends to slow the rhythm of the narration in unwanted ways. The story in itself I found quite boring. It has a beyond obvious resolution and no surprises. The mother/daughter theme is not particularly well thought out and it felt to me like a poorly written short story. It's still kinda pretty so, I guess it gets a passing grade...
Hindsight is an arty semi-interactive narrative piece about a middle-aged woman returning to her childhood home to reminisce about her upbringing and strained relationship with her Japanese immigrant mother. Most of the gameplay here, such as it is, consists of rotating minimally animated 3D scenes to reveal a hotspot that you can click on to move the camera over to its next position and advance the story; it's a simple mechanic, but the visual design of these scenes and the way they're integrated together and into the narrative, often with one object serving as a window to the next scene (it makes sense in motion), is fairly strong and mostly carries Hindsight well enough for its short length. Dragged down slightly by a few frustrating moments where you'll be pixel-hunting for the next hotspot, and while its limited attempts at puzzles are mostly fine, there's one particular one involving moving books on a bookshelf that I have no idea how I was meant to figure out without a video walkthrough. Still, it's worth playing for fans of these sorts of arty gameplay-light narrative projects, at least on sale.

what a masterpiece of narration and art!
It's a nice story with cute graphics and some interactivity.
Hindsight's story takes a chapter or two to get started, but once it does open itself up, is it f*cking remarkable. Wow.
I loved Hindsight. It seemed a bit generic at the start but man was I emotional by the end. It made me realize how time is finite and how we have to have those hard converstaions we have been avoiding. Also reminded me to spend as much time as I can with the people I love.
