Hidden Fears (Moonlight Edition)

It was cheap, and on sale to boot... yet I still feel a little ripped off. The load times are abysmal, absolutely unforgivable for such a low-tech game. And speaking of low-tech, well... it's a shame, because there were tiny bits here and there that hinted at what could have been a halfway decent game. But it isn't.

it's sadly still unplayable, lagging and crashing - even on a 2023 setup. it's not your rig, it's the game. Don't use waste your money.

Absolutely Unplayable. The game starts off extremely laggy, difficult to click on things because you move the mouse and two seconds later it follows your movement. But that's fine, I can handle a bit of lag. However, as soon as I got to the first ghost battle I couldn't progress any further - and I started on the normal mode instead of advanced because this was a hidden objects series I wasn't familiar with! The first instruction you get about it being 'timed' and if you click at the right time it goes green is all well and good, but I tried numerous different timings and only twice I was able to get a green click. Occasionally the marker would flicker green but then it would go red and I would be penalised for missing it. Very disappointing since the game itself looks well-made and I was hoping for several playthroughs. I'm a big fan of hidden object games but I won't be buying any more from this developer. In fact, I created an entirely new tag for this game. Usually I file things in 'File' for games I've played but don't see myself playing again, and 'Completed' for games I have done most or all of the achievements for and/or completed to the end. I've created a tag just called 'BAD' entirely for this game, because I don't want to come back to my library in a few years and think 'hey I didn't play this much, I wonder why I filed it' and then go 'Oh OH THIS GAME.' Saving future!me some energy remembering how dreadful this game it.
