Hex of Steel

Very good war game. Just complex enough to be engaging, while still having a learning curve that is manageable for the working man. There is even a port for Android. All in all great value for the price. Have not yet tried the multiplayer, but I assume it is just as good since all the units are balanced.

This is an amazing hex based war game with endless replay value and strategy possibilities. The game has a multitude of game settings and options that pretty much can give you years of hardcore war gaming

Hex of Steel is a very good game and, especially at its current sale price, it is definitely worth buying. It is one of those projects that continues to evolve with constant updates, and that commitment from the developer alone adds a great deal of value. That said, after spending time with it, I feel that its design philosophy is much closer to the classic Panzer General/Panzer Corps style than to a true grand strategy game like Strategic Command. For players who enjoy operational tactics and detailed battlefield management, this is a great experience. However, for those of us who prefer large-scale strategic warfare on a global map, the amount of micromanagement becomes overwhelming. Managing so many individual battalions and support units often shifts the focus away from strategic planning and toward moving dozens of counters every turn. In my opinion, the game already contains almost every system needed to become something even deeper. I would love to see an optional game mode based on divisions and army corps instead of individual battalions. Fewer units, organized into larger formations and fronts, would significantly reduce micromanagement while allowing players to focus on operational and strategic decisions. That would not replace the current game—it would simply offer another way to experience it and could appeal to a much broader audience of grand strategy players. Even so, I still recommend the game. It is a solid purchase, it continues to improve, and I will be following its development with great interest.

Прекрасная игра. Играл ранее с удовольствием в такие аналоги как Panzer Corps, Panzer Corps 2 и Order of Battle. Считаю эту игру лучшей. Очень понравилось: 1) Возможность выиграть сценарий без ограничений по числу ходов, потеряв при этом 5 XP для ранга командира, но набрав их захватом вспомогательных победных точек и проходя сценарий не торопясь используя любую тактику; 2) Механика партизан, заставляющая оставлять гарнизоны на завоеванных территориях; 3) Механика траты денег на поддержку частей и механика расхода людских ресурсов, делающих по сути сценарий отдельной стратегической игрой, с захватом городов и заводов (заводы можно и строить, но пока эту функцию не использовал) производством новых частей в ограниченном количестве и уничтожением не нужных.

Le meilleur jeu de stratégie sur plateau avec moult scénario et campagnes, un vrai plaisir et sur la durée aussi. Merci
