Probably the best Turn base game i've ever played the comunity is amazing and the devs are amazing, it's really fun and have many mods i recomend the full version it's worth it.
great game and runs fairly well when on larger maps. very fun to mess around with.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great first stage campaign. I built 500+ units in Japan Vs. AI in both the USA and the Philippines with 600+ units. The production, logistics, and expansion mechanics are very satisfying. Each country offers a unique challenge, and watching your manufacturing network grow feels rewarding. Really enjoying the game so far and looking forward to the later stages.
hyvä peli 5/5.
Enjoy the warfare in Civ but wish there was more depth or longevity to it? Welcome to Hex of Steel! This is a must for anyone interested in dipping their toes in wargames or interested in some light, strategic thinking.
I can see the potential as a multiplayer or hotseat game but playing scenarios in this game is just soulless. There is no historical accuracy at all. The ingredients are like panzer corps but without the fancy graphics. I have tried for many times to get into this game but for me it feels quantity - all the scenarios - over quality. It is just a puzzle game like all the other clones with no historic military relevance. Or I have tired of this concept all together and rely more on gary grigsbys war in the east and decisive campaigns. I know they are totally different games but I would say Strategic Command is a much more fun game to play.
A fun tactical game. Rediculous huge heap of scenarios and campaigns. Playing Normandy 44. Not easy as US. Quickly ran out of manpower building units and healing units. Selected the policy Conscription to boost recruitment. I found managing the air war to be the most challenging. Air fields are hard to see. Strikes must be judicious. An AA unit hiding behind the target unit can blast your aircraft to smithereens. It is a game not an historical simulation. For example, you can land units amphibiously on any coast hex. Doesn't matter if the geography has no beach, only bluffs that fall into the sea. But it is close enough to historical to get the feeling of the conflict. Recommend 7.5/10. Not game of the year but exceptional value for the price. Well done dev.
This is easily the best successor to Panzer General 2 out there—honestly, it's even better than the Panzer Corps series. The UI has a few quirks, but what I really love is the total lack of RNG. It means that if you make a mistake and have to reload, it feels less like save-scumming and more like fixing a tactical error.
Great game - I did a review for this game a long while ago when it first released about how good it was but it seems to have disappeared somewhere (or possibly i deleted because i old!) anyway great game/ regular updates/ lots of mods/ developer listens and answers to comments/ i have played a lot of the scenarios and my personal favourites are Market garden (either side) and race for Moscow (as Germans)
