Is the game fun? Yes Is it worth $10 in its current state? No. In its current state, the game is basically the first game with upgraded graphics. While I do enjoy the game from time to time, with the dev MIA I cant recommend it to anybody. Go play the first one, its free.
Great nastalgia for the old flash game on Ankon!
First things first: The game is completely and unambiguously abandoned, to the point that their website is no longer up. Whatever you see is exactly all you're ever going to get. It will never see another bugfix or feature implementation. That said: Even in its current state, it's a fun little turn-based strategy game and I'm happy I bought it. Things I like about it:

Quick to play a game; can finish in under an hour, easy to play any time.
Very simple gameplay, no micromanagement.
Has reasonable strategic depth for being so simple.
Nicely replayable (random map generator).
As mentioned by others, the game is abandoned and unfinished game. I bought the game only to give back to the developers for playing the free online orginal Hex Empire and an unofficial copy of this game.
Abandoned and unfinished game. You'll get more out of the flash game sequels, other reviews here say all I would've said here.
Sadly this game has been abandoned, with more work it could be a really good game. Refunded due to instability issues and freezing. Not being able to resume a saved game.....
I wish I would say that this is as good as the first but they added too much. With the first all you had to worry was Morale and Troops most of the time. But now you got a budget, artillery, more nations and how that affects your morale it is a lot.
The game is broken. It kind of gets stuck in the middle of the game and then shuts down the entire laptop. Someone has gotta fix this crap. I love strategy games generally. This one is making me to think twice before I get any such similar games in future. What a waste of money
Its a downgrade from the original sadly, and honestly its because of the nukes. Whats the point of maneuvering, planning and strategy when the AI just nukes everything, making the map an irradiated wasteland thats annoying to capture and move through? I wish they would port the old one to steam or at least give the option to remove nukes.
If you liked the flash game, you'll like this. I miss the 'news reports' though. "XY takes YZ". "XY Breaks truce with YZ" etc. But otherwise still great, with slightly deeper features.
