Heroes of Science and Fiction (formerly known as Silence of the Siren) is a turn-based strategy game where several different space-faring civilizations fight over control of a distant star system. Content in the full game
Heroes of Science and Fiction contains 5 playable factions, four campaigns with 4 levels each and 30+ skirmish maps set in colorful environments.
Each faction brings its own base, 7 upgradeable unit types, a special skill and a set of commanders to choose from. There are 24 skills, 54 active commander abilities and various pieces of equipment, consumables and artifacts.

The Siren star system, birthplace of a galactic alliance, and the homeworld of a lost Primals civilization, has been cut from the rest of the galaxy. As a result, the carefully built alliance split into bickering factions and secluded colonies. These days, hardly anyone pays attention to the ruins scattered all over the few habitable planets of a freshly isolated system. The deeper you venture into the uncharted regions, the stronger the feeling of endangerment grows. There is something else. An entity, a shade, an echo of whispers from below.

Explore what's left on the planets and secure important resources. Use them to upgrade your bases with advanced technology and to hire massive armies. Play as several different factions, recruit skilled commanders, teach them new skills and lead them into battle. Overcome obstacles on the map to gather powerful equipment and ancient artifacts.

Encounter a wide range of enemies in turn-based combat, use your tactical thinking to gain advantage on the battlefield. Learn the unique moves of your units, deploy your commander's special abilities and outsmart even much stronger opponents.

It's a nice and interesting game, but it's unplayable - the wait time between the turns takes forever, after some time in the play it's starting to slow down, sometimes it merely stops with the "next turn" button becoming inactive
An excellent game. I enjoyed it very much. Interesting setting, nice factions - just good old HoMM but in space.
Is this game fun? YES! This has the potential to become a great HOMM spinoff or clone as it was intended without breaking the IP. Can i recommend it currently as of July 2026? NO! There are so many bugs in a full release. Some are game breaking. CON: AI isn't really smart. Some maps have objective that it can not do. (example: gather key to open gateway). CON: Usable items are not that diverse. Ending up with multiple of the same. Which can't be stacked. CON: Multiplayer is.. still in beta? why release as complete? Multiplayer is for most THE reason to play this.. PRO: If you have no friends and intend to play this solo then get it now!
Фиг знает почему такие хорошие отзывы.. мб люди просто хотят новых героев так как эта игра и выглядит не очень и чувствуется недоделанной.
great game
Not a bad game, but not good as well. Heroes of Might and Magic with different characters. Skirmish is freezing like hell. End-turn button stucks, or does not appear after combat. What a pity....
На данный момент - Игра "сырая", в ней мало всего того, что цепляет и заставляет вернуться.
Good game
I don't have a whole lot of hours *yet* but this game so far is absolutely great and fun to play, been playing it in co-op and it's an absolute blast so far, the visuals are really nice too and the creatures are very creative! Even if this isn't your style of game, please give it a try! If someone like me can understand how to play it you will too and you'll be missing out on such a fun and creative game! (Mac users, it works great on Crossover)
(edit) aaaand i just found out the skirmish maps are not randomly generated! i only play 1v1, so i get exactly 4 maps to play on. and they all have some gimmick, teleporters etc. if random maps are a must have, you know what to do. (/edit) others can explain about the HOMM-ness of this game, here are my takeaways: game takes a long time to boot. not excessively long, but certainly longer than i would think a 2D game should take. loading your saved game does go quickly. the maps are ridiculously cluttered with pickups, gold, etc. so much so that it all blends together into a neon colored blob of 'stuff'. it really is hard to see that a path is blocked by some neon colored pickup. which leads (sometimes) to telling your hero to go there, only to see him take a circuitous route because of loot you didn't see. yes, Alt shows all pickups but sometimes loot is hidden behind terrain. this is not the only HOMM-like that has this problem. the game doesn't want me (in most cases) to play the tactical battles. either i win easily or it's too hard. if it's too hard i add more troops until i win anyway. obviously you have to learn the units, but as a new player i figure the computer knows them better than me. so i'm reticent to play them. my first skirmish, i'm pretty sure i won, but the game locked up on me when i took the last base, i never got a victory screen. so there's that. don't care for the art style. one thing i love is an 'end turn' confirm button when you forget to build, with a button taking you to the base where you can build. i always forget, so i'm a big fan of that. i got it 50% off. sounds about right.
