From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness. Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Pretty good game design. The finished product communicates easily the attempted vision of the developers. The theme is gritty, fleshy and rarely lifts up. The mental illness is ever present through this game. Wether it being during fights, puzzles or random exploration. Graphics are breath taking even in the end of 2026 Sound design a treat and gameplay is nice and most of all the gamle managed to not over stay its welcome and concludes exactly when I hoped it would.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 14: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Tl;dr <10 hours total playtime, worth it on sale. But don't go into this expecting the typical action gameplay loop of exploring, fighting, and levelling up. The combat itself is great but very basic. At its best, Hellblade is immersive cinema with badass, flashy swordplay. At its worst, it's a glorified tech demo with annoying puzzles. For all the praise I have, I wouldn't say Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is an unmissable experience. If you're interested in the story, it's not mandatory to actually play the game; you'll be fine with watching a playthrough.
Story and Art
It's clear that the game's focus is artistry and narrative. Sound design is solid, featuring excellent voice acting with a wide range of emotions. Psychosis is explored in a period-appropriate manner, so no therapy speak or anachronistic dialogue. I don't count "f*** the gods" as anachronistic because people in the past swore too. They weren't speaking Ye Olde "Shakespearian" Englishe all the time; they had colloquialisms and obscenities. The story is straightforward with an overall dark and mysterious tone, but also a few notes of tenderness and even humour. You sympathise with Senua in her lowest moments and her emotional triumphs. She cauterises a gaping wound on her face with her own broken sword—as the kids say, that's aura farming. Another highlight is the scene in Dillion's perspective where he praises her sword-fighting, and she keeps avoiding his gaze but she has this cute small smile. The graphics are amazing and well-optimised, though I honestly could not tell whether ray tracing made a difference or not. I consider this a good balance between realism and not setting your GPU on fire. Maybe Surtr would like that, but in these RAMageddon days? Not a chance in Hel.
Gameplay
Hellblade is meant to be an immersive experience, so the only UI is the menu. It works here because the game is simple enough to be intuitive. If you've played a melee action game, you should know how to play this. Hints about where to go next are subtle. Puzzles make up the majority of the experience, and they range from brilliant to frustrating. During one of Odin's trials, everything is dark and you can't run at all, and another trial might have you stuck in a seemingly endless labyrinth with only a torch. The only two times I died was during the puzzle sequences, which do sometimes trigger environmental hazards that can kill you. I genuinely think the combat is easier even on Hard. But unfortunately, the puzzles take precedence in the second act (Odin's trials) to such a degree that you can go an entire hour without a fight as you solve four long puzzles, which hampered the pacing in my opinion. I say this because the combat is very good—simple yet satisfying. It feels epic to do a perfect parry and stun your opponent, leaving him helpless as you tear him to shreds. Enemy attack speeds strike the right balance between telegraphed and fast enough to challenge you. However, there is only one ability to unlock (the slow motion/focus feature), and you "level up" once by getting a new sword. Also, the mobs aren't brutal on Hard difficulty. Even when facing a crowd, only two enemies would try to engage me at once, which was very polite of them. While there is no stamina per se, if Senua is at low health you will move slower and cannot do heavy attacks. You know how people say the camera is often your biggest enemy in a Souls game? There's none of that here; the camera does not get in the way. Even if you can't see, the voices will warn you about attacks from behind. Hellblade would have benefited from an arcade or endless encounter mode, because honestly, the combat is almost wasted on a game that has a grand total of three bosses and five enemies, two of which are downgraded versions of bosses. I guess the final level kind of counts as an endless encounter. That being said, the final level is sadly anticlimactic. (Don't read this paragraph if you don't want spoilers.) You just fight endless mobs and you're forced to lose. You don't get to fight Hel despite all the trouble you went through to enter her realm. In a game called Hellblade, no less? I don't mind losing, but it would have been awesome to clash against the goddess of the underworld herself. I know this is a matter of preference, and I would have accepted this narrative choice in a film or comic. But this is a video game, a medium that relies on interaction to express meaning and emotion, and said interaction often takes the form of combat. It feels like a missed opportunity to utilise it in this way, especially because the swordplay is the most exciting part for me. The anticipation was already being built, with mentions of the Ragnarok to foreshadow a climactic battle against the gods. The game could have done a better job of driving the point home by making us fight Hela a few times and realising on our own that we're supposed to lose, then finding meaning in accepting Senua's loss. Due to a lack of branching paths and alternate endings, the game has little replay value. If you're looking to 100% your achievements, be sure to get all the Lorestones in one go: replaying each level is a drag because you cannot skip cutscenes. Even with chapter selection, you can only play within the confines of that chapter, making it impossible to backtrack in case you missed a Lorestone. You might have noticed that there are dots between the runes of the Lorestones. They don't necessarily indicate linear order within a specific level, which I learned the hard way when I had to traverse Helheim four times thinking I missed the final Lorestone of the level, only to find out it was the second one. All in all, while Hellblade shows its imperfections in gameplay, they weren't enough to drag down the excellent story and combat. Thank you for reading, and I hope you gained something from this.

I loved it! i was feeling the creeps almost the whole playthrough. it was terrifying at times and i love how it completely pulls you into the world through the amazing sound design and the storytelling. takes some time to understand the puzzles but after that it's a breeze. 10/10 recommended 👍
