"Help! Sinners are escaping from hell! Quickly, kill them all! Click on them, place spikes on the ground, let them walk through fire, shoot them with huge arrows!" Hell Loop is like Lemmings, but you are the hell manager and your goal is to kill them all.

This isn't bad for a first game from a small Indie group, a tower defense game where the enemy drops from the ceiling and works their way downward like a marble-drop is rather unique and creative. However this game is something that would have been better released as a free game on itch.io to be played in a web browser. One of the biggest issues I had with the game is that the enemy does not come in waves that slowly get bigger, instead they are released all at once and pore down on you like a tidal wave of gingers with afros. Most tower defense games use some sort of wave system to give the player the ability and time to level up their towers as the pressure builds. For the most part the levels felt unnecessary because the strategy seemed to never change, and the inability to place as many towers as you want or place towers next to one another only felt annoying rather than encouraging greater strategy. In other words: The limited freedom decreased the already limited amount of play-style/strategy available. There is no negative or positive consequences for letting the little guys slip past your towers, only an end screen showing a percentage of how many you did and did not stop. The game was super buggy, like, I never got more then 3 towers to play with, (which can be fixed and likely will be) and I wasn't able to use any of the abilities in the top left corner. The tutorial was long and unnecessary, people know how to play tower defense games, so only unusual things should be shown in the tutorial, and even those could be communicated on the HUD. The controls felt clunky, for example: Placing towers with left mouse button, but you also move the camera with the left mouse button, moving the camera should perhaps be moved to the middle mouse button as most games use that setup. Also it was near impossible to click on any of the little guys likely because of hit box issues, but clicking on them felt like a waste of time because of balancing issues, so I wasn't sure why that was even an option. Overall it felt like the beginnings for a great game to play for free on a web browser, it does need a lot of ironing out and balancing, but has the foundation for a decent, mini, tower defense game.
Enjoyable. Pros: - It's fun to find effective strategies. - The "no escape" mode is very challenging and fun. Cons: - Your trap choices can make some playthroughs on higher difficulty impossible. - Difficulty levels are hidden in main menu.
Delightful little brutal game in which you have to prevent human souls to escape from hell. The game is small but the levels are many, the idea is sound, the implementation is good, and above all it's fun. And, it's priced so low that not buying it will cause you to be one of those souls trying to escape hell!
Enjoyed the first few levels before throwing in the towel at level 5 or 6. Game gets difficult quite quickly, and I may have hung myself with my trap choices. I'll have to give it another try soon.
I woke up this morning, put my Christmas socks on and hit Refresh. Bam! Game released. Slapped that Purchase button. Hit play. Refreshing take on the Tower Defense genre. 11/10, would recommend. Play it or else, you don't want to end up in the Hell Loop now would you? Peace, reviewer #2.
Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/, Follow me!
Hell Loop it's a really original tower defense game. It's more like lemmings type, there are thousands of humans for kill with traps, and the more you advance doing stages more traps are stats are added to your kill rooster. The graphics aren't so great but the gore and the screaming of this little human/lemmings are so satisfyng and I don't even know why XD The game it's addictive and sinces the price it's way low that should be I really recommend this one. Fun game. Basic silly fun, a genre I call Trap Defense as opposed to Tower Defense, but enjoyable. Sadly the game does end out of nowhere, not sure why, but not all of my trap slots ever got full. Did I fail in some way? It doesn't say. Game play is basic, souls drop in at the top, and race to the bottom, and the players perspective is from the side. You get one kind of trap at the start, and gain more types as things progress. You do have to be careful though, because they come with traits that can be positive or negative, and I suspect bad choices could really work against you. Traps can be leveled up, as well, which is good because the number of traps you can lay is limited. The screams and the blood as cartoonish, nothing unsettling or disturbing, though perhaps not for young children. A story would be nice, and certainly there could easily be a lot more to it, but for what it is, on sale, it has been an enjoyable romp. About an hour in, and not bored with it yet.
This game isn´t bad but its very hard and boring. There are no waves so all the enemies are just thrown at you and you have no time to think and even if you complete a level it doesn´t feel good. It´s a tower defense/strategy but you simply forget about this part as you just randomly place the defenses. But I think the idea for the game is pretty good. I can´t recommend even for the low price.

The game is pretty great as a tower defense + strategy game. The drawings are perfect and looks pretty great for your eyes, you can't wait that much from a platformer. However sinners can scream and that would make you feel like you're a real Evil LMAO. However, traps are pretty enough to kill all the sinners. I had one problem with achievements. I tried many things to solve it but I didn't had achievements while I was completing them. Contacted developer about that and he said yeah there can be a bug about achievements which will be solved %100. Developer is pretty great guy, Thanks to him for working on that project and I got one sentence from him. He said they can improve the story, which would be pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good for that price game. Buy it you'll not disagree. The game deserves at least 2 hours :) RECOMMENDED!!
