Helen's Mysterious Castle

A nice little jrpg that doesn't outstay its welcome. The battle system is extremely clever and tightly designed. Great way to spend an afternoon. I played on a Steam deck and music did not work running the game with Proton, but I was able to fix that by running the game through EasyRPG instead, and then had zero problems the whole way though.

游戏剧情很有意思，女主前期是文盲导致剧情基本没有都看不懂，学会识字之后就能理解剧情，有大量隐藏细节值得挖掘，但个人铸币开始不知道经验可以用来升级武器，搞得前期跟打魂游一样坐牢，差点给我打破防，怪物有不少是机制怪，容易被初见杀，女主意外呆萌可爱

[Updated 5/22/2026] After thinking about it some more, I changed my mind. This game ought to serve as a standard of quality to measure RPGMaker games. Please raise the price of this game to $20 USD. You can always put it on sale whenever you want, but I think more people will buy it & play it if you raise the price. It's worth it. Original review: I enjoyed this game well enough. I originally came to check out its fairly unique combat-timing system and I wasn't disappointed. There are two parts where I got stuck because the way forward wasn't obvious, so here are a couple of largely spoiler-free tips: 1) after you break the barrier it doesn't look obvious how to proceed. It turns out that all you have to do is go up a couple steps (beyond the stained-glass window) and to the left. 2) once the fairy has joined you, and you've backtracked all the way home, there is a secret door you can access in your home (IIRC which was previously blocked by a chest) in the middle of the wall. No special tricks to open it, just walk along the wall. As for combat, I found that if you're struggling against any particular boss or fight, it's probably because you aren't playing aggressively enough. Make sure you get the strong weapons & spells and level them up. A bow or ranged weapon will be your best friend through nearly *all* of the game. Make sure you have a 1) fast attack, 2) piercing attack, 3) big-damage attack, 4) shield, and once it becomes available, 5) heal. That's all I have to say. Enjoy!

INCREDIBLE value for a couple bucks. Really enjoyed the battle system, dialogue doesn't drag, and no slow walking! Superb surprise, well done Satsu.

非常好的游戏，完全的佳作。虽然其他评论说比肩废都物语，在游戏质量上基本是这样，只不过这款游戏的体量小，没有像废都物语那种用文字搭建一个宏大世界的程度。游戏前中期渲染违和感的部分做的非常好。

挺有趣的一部游戏，体量不算小，中间花在练级上的时间有点多，不练级的话会打得很难受。 故事简单直白，也有一些转折，揭开真相的时候是最有冲击力的，然后会让人有一种一鼓作气直奔结局的冲动，但是不好意思你得先练练级，不然打不过。后期boss战为主，体验连贯性会再次好起来。 主角主打一个呆萌可爱，各路角色则是各有特色，结局算是一个安稳的收场，反派居然在眼皮子底下跑了，这真是哭笑不得。大部分人物的塑造都是正向的。 玩法也是简单粗暴，攻防cd 三个主要属性，然后就是各种机制，后期和隐藏地图的战斗中敌方机制会比较强，这个时候就要使用我们的超级数值了。主角能拿到的机制有限，另外是有背包限制，只能携带8个武器，去掉被动装备就更少了。有个地方可以拿回丢掉的装备，拿新装备的时候要先收进包里才能找回，这把我害惨了，来回跑了几趟呢。 如果对上胃口了，就好好享受吧，会是一段很有趣的体验😋

数時間でサクッと遊べる短編RPGを求めてプレイしましたが、想像以上の出来で大満足でした！ シンプルながら戦略の立て甲斐があり、それでいて難しすぎはしない絶妙な塩梅の戦闘に、旅の先々で出会う魅力的なキャラクターたち、ぬるぬる動くドット絵アニメ、小粒ながらよく纏まっており魅せ方の上手いストーリー…と、 こういったRPGに求める要素がすごくハイレベルに凝縮されていた作品だったように思います。 値段も非常に安い(なんなら元がフリゲなのでフリゲ版もあります)ので、少しでも興味を持った方にはぜひ手にとってみてほしいです！ 楽しくて素敵な冒険をありがとう！
