Released 12-oct-2016.... yet still 2 of the first 5 quests fail to complete. For instance, there is a timed quest with skeleton where the skeleton only spawns AFTER the quest has expired. Block placement is bad, really painful, especially when there are full-height blocks around. Building tall walls, closing off caves, etc are all giant pains as a result. Also, timed quests? REALLY? What is the point of having the quests, including the basic tutorial quests, TIMED?
Don't bother. I played back in beta(2017) only to come back now that it's "finished" only to find they didn't fix any of the glaring issues that were holding the game back. Trying to interact with the NPC that wont stand still, is frustrating and ends up with my character swinging at air most of the time. Time locking quests with random drop requirements that rely on constantly moving NPCs to craft quest items is a tremendously bad move. The "official" wiki is empty the only statement on the dev site is a post from steam green light build 7. It feels like the devs don't care. And I have to agree with them. Don't bother giving this game your time.

People play single players because of their flexibility, no need to rush. After reading the review, it looks like timed Quest (you are given 2-3 days to finish it) really gives a nasty effect on me. I don't want to be rushed to play this game, I want to enjoy it. I don't even know at the point im writing this, whether the quest will be gone forever if the time runs out or you can re-take it? Giving the time counter at the quest kills the mood on playing single player games. Please remove it, devs.
Game is super short, i got max level in under 5 hours. Love how this is out of early access, when its still so low in content.
Shards of Azuria plays a bit like an isometric version of Terraria, it's pretty cool! The game is a sandbox RGP game with quests and it revolves around exploration, crafting and base building. The game is lacking a bit of polish so there are a still a few bugs here and there but nothing game breaking. Regarding the combat, I find it a bit meh but it's fine and I liked the fact that we can find or craft abilities further down the road that will stack up on top of the basic melee attacks. The small piece of character equipment customization is nice too so you can equip new stuff that will change its appearance. Additionally, even though it appears that the game content is a bit limited, the game plays well and it's refreshing for some time. If you like Sandbox RPG games with crafting & building, you can't really go wrong with Shards of Azuria, the dev definitely did put some love in his game and is still dedicated to it. He did listen to feedback I provided earlier this week and so he will be pushing out later today an update that will address multiple issues including the two I mentioned on Steam forum, which is much appreciated =)
I really want to like this game because it's right at the nexus of almost every game play genre and style that I enjoy the most but (at least for the time being) I would have to give it a miss. Hopefully as it proceeds through Early Access these rough edges will be sanded off. The items that turned me off on the game are the following: First, I'm an older guy with poor eyes and everything is just so dang tiny the text was all but illegible. In fact I spelled not only my character name but my world name wrong and didn't realize it right away because it's so tiny. Playing in a window doesn't help, and I'm not interesting in changing the native resolution of my laptop just to make things bigger. Secondly, it crashed; a lot. I don't know that I have any particularly troublesome setup, but I had several crashes during my brief experience with the game, which really detracted from my ability to get into it and really see what it has to offer. Lastly, I had issues leaving the starting map of the game. It worked the first time, just prior to the first crash while I was picking up a branch, and from that point forward no amount of rebooting, restarting, making new characters or generating new worlds would allow me to leave the starting map. I'm going to keep an eye on this as it progresses because I'd really love to see this succeed.
There is barely 2 hours of content. Not worth the current price. Worth 2-3$ at best One major problem on steam.. unfinished, abandonned games like this one. Despicable
It doesn't look or feel like a finished product despite, apparently, being so.
