awesome rpg! much better than the Western AAA Bethesda/EA/MS/Squenix slop!
игра для олдов
Yes.
The game tries to be a Gothic-Like but it has more in common with "Beltion: Beyond Ritual" than Gothic. The open world is really cool and the sense of progression is there. Maybe it is a little bit too grindy but overall it is a really cool game, It took me 24 hrs to complete it.
Heart of Eternity is a classic fantasy action RPG that embraces the slower, more deliberate design philosophy of older role-playing games while delivering a surprisingly large and ambitious open-world adventure. Set within the dangerous land of Sarcus, the game places players in the middle of political conflict, magical warfare, ancient prophecies, and battles between powerful factions struggling for control over mysterious artifacts. Developed with a strong focus on exploration and traditional RPG mechanics, the game offers an experience that feels deeply rooted in the era of old-school computer role-playing games where atmosphere, worldbuilding, and player freedom mattered more than cinematic presentation. The story gradually unfolds around ancient relics and the growing instability spreading across Sarcus. Rival factions including religious organizations, noble houses, magical races, and darker supernatural forces all compete for influence and power. Players become entangled in a conflict that slowly expands far beyond simple adventuring, revealing hidden conspiracies, ancient magic, and political schemes threatening the future of the world itself. The narrative focuses heavily on exploration and discovery rather than constant scripted action, allowing the player to uncover the lore of Sarcus naturally through quests, conversations, and environmental storytelling. One of the game’s most impressive strengths is the size and openness of its world. Sarcus feels expansive, with forests, villages, ruins, mountains, underground dungeons, and dangerous wilderness areas connected into a seamless fantasy landscape. Exploration plays a major role throughout the experience because the world is filled with hidden quests, secrets, treasures, and optional encounters scattered far beyond the main storyline. Traveling through the world often feels rewarding simply because there is always the possibility of discovering forgotten ruins, isolated settlements, or dangerous enemies hidden away from obvious paths. The quest system also adds significant depth to the adventure. Rather than relying entirely on linear mission design, the game offers numerous branching quests where player decisions influence relationships between factions and affect later events. Some quests force players to choose sides during political disputes, while others involve morally questionable decisions involving magic, religion, and survival. Multiple endings further strengthen replay value by allowing different choices to shape the overall outcome of the story. Character progression is built around traditional RPG customization systems. Players can develop warriors, archers, or magic-focused characters depending on personal preference, with different combat styles and spell schools providing a reasonable amount of flexibility. Equipment upgrades, stat management, and skill progression all play important roles in shaping the player’s abilities over time. The game rewards careful planning because stronger enemies and later regions require proper character development and preparation to survive effectively. Combat uses a real-time action system that feels heavily inspired by older fantasy RPGs. Instead of automated targeting or simplified mechanics, battles require direct control over movement, weapon swings, blocking, and positioning. Combat can become chaotic during larger encounters involving multiple enemies or magic users, especially when undead creatures and supernatural enemies appear later in the adventure. While the mechanics lack the smoothness and responsiveness of modern action RPGs, there is still satisfaction in mastering the slower and more methodical combat style. The worldbuilding is another area where Heart of Eternity succeeds remarkably well. Sarcus feels populated by numerous cultures, races, and ideological conflicts that extend beyond the immediate plot. Humans, elves, goblins, vampires, and other races all contribute to the larger fantasy setting, while religious tensions and political rivalries help the world feel alive and historically layered. Many side characters and optional quests provide additional lore that strengthens immersion and gives the setting a believable sense of history. Visually, the game clearly reflects its age. Character models, environmental textures, and animations appear dated by modern standards, and the overall presentation often feels rough compared to newer fantasy RPGs. However, despite the aging graphics, the atmosphere still works surprisingly well. Large landscapes, dark ruins, fog-covered forests, and torch-lit dungeons help create a convincing fantasy mood, especially during nighttime exploration or dangerous dungeon crawls. The soundtrack and ambient audio support the world effectively. Exploration themes create a calm sense of adventure while combat music adds tension during battles against monsters and hostile factions. Environmental sounds such as wind, wildlife, and dungeon ambience help reinforce the feeling of traveling through a dangerous and ancient world. The audio design may not be especially memorable on its own, but it contributes well to the overall immersion. Unfortunately, many of the game’s weaknesses also stem from its age. The controls can feel awkward and stiff, inventory management is sometimes frustrating, and the interface lacks many modern conveniences players now expect from RPGs. Combat occasionally feels clunky during faster encounters, and quest objectives can become difficult to follow due to vague directions. Some players may also struggle with the slower pacing and heavy emphasis on exploration over immediate action. Despite these flaws, Heart of Eternity remains an ambitious and rewarding fantasy RPG for players willing to embrace older game design philosophies. The combination of open-world exploration, branching quests, deep character progression, and lore-heavy storytelling creates an experience filled with freedom and adventure. While the rough mechanics and outdated presentation prevent it from competing with modern RPGs technically, the scale and atmosphere of Sarcus still capture much of the charm associated with classic fantasy role-playing games. For fans of old-school RPGs and expansive fantasy adventures, Heart of Eternity offers a surprisingly rich journey through a dangerous world filled with political conflict, magic, and exploration. Its dated systems and rough edges may discourage some modern players, but those willing to look beyond its aging presentation will discover a large and immersive fantasy experience with impressive depth and strong replay value.
