Haunted Past: Realm of Ghosts

Short above-average HOPA game, recommended for fans of the genre but get the Collector's edition somewhere else if you can. The story was interesting but not everything was explained by the end in the plain Steam version. The sound effects and music were atmospheric and well made, didn't feel repetitive. The hidden objects were fair to find, not too easy or too hard. The originality of this game was switching between the past and the present through mirrors. You could see some rooms initially in their old dilapidated state and then in their original full glory. And those rooms looked very nice, especially the paintings, which were probably scanned real ones. I appreciated the mention at the top when an area was cleared. Other small problems were no Steam overlay and that the game didn't close properly. You had to hit the green "Stop" button in your library.

Honnêtement, pour 0.99€ en soldes et pour environ 2 heures de jeu, ça vaut la peine. C'est un jeu d'objets cachés avec énigmes assez classique dont la seule originalité est de pouvoir "voyager" dans le passé pour cacher des objets afin de les retrouver dans le présent. Mis à part cela, le seul gameplay est de cliquer sans réelle réflexion derrière, d'autant plus que le scénario (assez simple) n'est expliqué qu'au travers des quelques notes qu'on peut trouver durant nos 120 minutes de jeu, donc cela ne va jamais très très loin. A prendre en soldes si vous êtes vraiment friands de ce type de jeu.

A great game. Its not really long and hard but its still very fun and has a nice story, great ambience and cool maechanics. I wish they made more parts especially after the mother signals that there will be more to come. Its totally worth playing over and over again. I can really highly recommend this game

For an older game, this holds up well and mixes things up from the more modern HOG formula. While exploring a mansion to figure out what is going on with some ghosts that live there, you find mirrors in the rooms to go to the ghost realms to find/hide tools you need to solve problems on the side of the living. The ghost realm was a fun addition along with the glyphs you solve to progress. Puzzles were a bit different from what I'm use to encountering which along with the hidden object scenes made this a chill but slightly spooky game to play. The game is voice acted throughout which a plus even if the audio in general feels a little dated. While short, about 80 minutes for me, this is a pretty good HOG to pick up on sale.

Ótimo game, apesar de antigo e levemente ultrapassado em relação aos seus concorrentes, porém ainda é um belo jogo do genero.

Jeu d'objets cachés sympa sans plus, pour amateurs uniquement. Bonne ambiance sonore pesante et atmosphère fantomatique soignée. La maison à explorer est plus grande qu'il n'y paraît au premier abord. Les puzzles sont faciles voire simplistes. L'histoire n'a pas grand intérêt mais on a vu pire. Par contre la fin est bâclée. Sinon pas de bug excepté à l'arrêt mais la sauvegarde fonctionne donc pas de problème. En résumé un jeu moyen mais qui meuble agréablement trois bonnes heures. Jeu uniquement en anglais (avec sous-titres en anglais).
