Bird Assassin

I am madly in love. This game is actually one of the best games I have ever played. I rate this game 10/10.

stupid fun.

Bird Assassin is a run-and-gun platformer which features immense flocks of enemies that blot out the screen, frequently making it difficult to see what's on the ground or if there are any enemies left standing. If you proceed methodically, however, there's really not that much challenge, and sadly there stop being new types of enemies after the halfway point in the game, until you reach the final boss, which also isn't hard. ...that's pretty much all there is to this game. It's short and bundle-bait, so I wouldn't really recommend picking it up as an actual purchase, but it's not the worst way to spend 40 minutes if you picked it up as part of a bundle or something.

Feels like a decent flash game you'd play to kill 5-10 minutes at a time. Very easy, relatively short, simple and highly repetitive gameplay with no replay value. It's not egregiously bad or anything, but with thousands of free alternatives to waste a bit of time I don't see the point in purchasing this.

Extremely short but fun.

"If it flies, it dies." This quote from the game actually perfectly summarises it. Bird Assassin is a 2D side scrolling shooter, in which you play a vengeful redneck on the hunt for the bird that killed his father. Over the course of 9 stages you'll be blasting birds, avoiding obstacles and collecting coins which can be used to upgrade your anti-avian arsenal. Boss fights and bonus levels add some variety, but most the time you'll be runnin' and gunnin'. The gameplay is very straightforward, the graphics are simple (Flash game style), the soundtrack is fittingly goofy, and the whole thing can be completed in under an hour. I wouldn't have minded some additional challenges, like a time trial, or achievements for completing the game without getting hit, or without using certain guns for example. But at this price point, I'm not complaining. It was fun while it lasted, and it's a humorous time-waster. Not bad for 2 bucks!
