It is VERY easy to soft-lock yourself from being able to progress. I did it TWICE in the main story and AGAIN in the Bonus Chapter. I had to start the game over FROM THE BEGINNING because the game wouldn't let me go back for something. Now I am locked out of the Bonus Chapter with no way to restart it unless I create a new profile and play the main game a THIRD TIME! No thank you.
An excellent 13th game of the Haunted Hotel series. Perfect fitting for playing during Halloween time. The story takes place in a spooky and creepy hotel atmosphere and sounds. Good storyline that held my curiosity from beginning to end of the main and the bonus game, with lots of interesting extra information to support the main story-line. I finished the main and bonus game + secret room, without skipping any puzzles in less than 6 hours (advanced mode). I did not encounter any bugs. I really enjoyed all the puzzles, varied from easy to moderate hard. But not always was the puzzle-instruction clear enough for me. Like for instance “the door-puzzle”, there is a note of the solution that is required, but the colours are not visible. A pop-up image of this note would have been most helpful. The game has achievements, but unfortunately Steam does not recognized them.
This game features a wild story but with easy to moderate puzzles. The scenes are interesting. It's really a fun way to spend a couple of hours. I appreciated being able to feed some animals during the game :)
One of the better HOGs that I've played. Interesting and easy to follow story, good puzzles, runs smooth.
Fun game and not overly hard mini games within to make the game itself less fun. Looking into now playing some of the older games w/in the series now.
This game is a 10/10 in my book of HOG's I have played. If you want a great storyline with solid puzzles, great graphics, an immersive play styled HOG, and a haunted feel to a game - then this is your game. So good. Worth the money.
It's an okay HOG game. Some of the puzzles are repeats and some are boring but all can be skipped. I liked it enough to finish it.
This HOG has a fatal flaw. Most "next steps" are on different screens, causing you to switch around non-stop - that paired with a bunch of open areas with fairly arbitrary interactions... makes this game just a hint masher. Most puzzles I solved by myself just made me roll my eyes, rather than giving any sense of accomplishment.
Very nice game. Right when you think ow thats it, its all over I have beat the game, Nope there is more to do. Plus : Nice game with nice graphics. Good story. Has a LOT of puzzles Great atmosphere Cons : Not very many hidden object scenes. But when they are there its great fun.
