Didn't get to play the first, but this one is great. The combat flow makes spells feel punchy, the necromancy mechanic is novel and well integrated, and the puzzle mechanics add shapeshifting to keep things interesting (w/ metroidvania style level progression).
Its good
This game is even better than the first one, which is really something :)
This one is less janky and irritating than the first game, but basically everything I said in my review also applies to Hands of Necromancy II as well. There are way better retro/boomer shooter games you can buy for your money, IMO.
I don't see much of a difference between this game and its predecessor. so this is basically my review from the frist game: To be completely honest, this is not the kind of game i like to play, still, i think it is a good game and can be awesome for many other people! Hands of Necromancy II is one of those old-timey games, with dates graphics, bit weird controls (despite the control overhaul) and the very typical kind of map. There is exploration or hidden nooks and crannies, shapechifting, combat, platforming and a bit of puzzle solving if you want to call it that. I think it is a pretty balanced game with a lot to offer, i just persoanlly don't have the nerve to sit through this kind of game for long. The only difference i can see between hands of necromancy I and II is that in the second game you can choose between two character classes, the second game looks a bit darker and in a way flatter than the first one. The second game also feels much more difficult than the first.
muito bom igual o 1 estilo doom e hexen paguei so 5 conto
I gave the first one a good review but this had to impress me to get the same, and its just more of the same without anything new. Theres no dumb hub world which is nice, but still levels are a maze for key hunting and switch hunting that you'll spend forever looking for that one little room you missed or little opening you didn't go through with a snake form. So much time wasted going all around a level pixel hunting, and you'll need to find a walkthrough to see that one little thing you missed, sometimes crazy jumps you didn't know you were supposed to make or a puddle you didn't know you could go deeper in, it can be random inconspicuous parts which are annoying. This is much better by episode 3 but first 2 episodes do this wayyyy too much, and it takes away the enjoyment. There are a few new weapons and theyre fine enough but its mostly the same weapons you got the first game. You also discover every weapon and fight basically every enemy by end of episode 1, meaning 2 and 3 bring nothing new besides a new level to do the same stuff on. Its also the same animal forms as the first game, with most of the same enemies. The items you collect give no real description or its 3 words so you don't know exactly what they do when you use them, and its a hassle to navigate the menu to use them especially when you get 14 different ones. The game is decent length, but it just brings nothing new to the table. Levels with annoying minutia you aren't allowed to miss or spend forever wandering around, the same enemies, forms. and guns for the last 60-70% of the game. And thats about it. Not terrible but many better boomer shooters out there. For the price doubling from the first game the quality and variety should have too. 6/10.
Fun game. Challenging as it needs to be.
