It’s Halloween night, 1978, the unsuspecting families of the quiet suburban town of Haddonfield are making holiday preparations, and evil has made its way home. Take The Shape of Evil as Michael Myers or save your neighbors as a Hero of Haddonfield in Halloween, the ultimate asymmetrical horror sandbox.
As Michael, players wear the mask, become the Boogeyman, and stalk innocent residents with relentless obsession. Utilizing a nightmarish array of abilities, Michael leverages shadows and stealth to satisfy his bloodthirst. This doesn’t mean Haddonfield is going down without a fight. Frightened townsfolk will call the local authorities and even fight back when threatened, incentivizing Michael to avoid detection. And for the first time ever, fans of the transformative original film will have the option to witness the haunting narrative events surrounding "The Night He Came Home" through the eyes of Michael Myers in a standalone singleplayer story mode.
As a Hero of Haddonfield, it’s your job to alert the residents of Haddonfield to the impending evil and help them escape before falling victim to Michael’s unyielding pursuit. In dynamic and ever-changing 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer matches, hero players must arm themselves with everyday household items, weapons, and knowledge to combat an unpredictable and unkillable enemy. Convincing townsfolk and contacting the police will lead to increasingly powerful and thorough neighborhood patrols. To even the odds, you can command and equip NPCs with weapons to outsmart or even overpower The Shape, providing precious windows for escape.
This immersive horror sandbox is powered by Unreal Engine 5 to deliver engaging and dynamic gameplay systems, life-like NPCs, hauntingly realistic visuals, cinema-quality lighting, and endless scares for you and your friends. Asymmetrical horror comes home in Halloween.
Sums Steam only; Xbox, Epic, PlayStation publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

if you just wanna have a good time, get this game. yes there's some bugs & i have a few complaints, such as the npc aspect of the game being a bit wonky and might need rework. it's not perfect by any means but i had low expectations and this game will probably flop in less than a year. but i hope it doesn't flop & they fix the game's issues & bugs because i enjoy beating myers up and rescuing helpless residents <3
2 Games is all it took to refund the game for me. 1. Game: I spawn in and get caught and killed. Then do a bunch of nonsense skill checks round ends. 2. Game: I spawn, get caught in 5 minutes dead. Then do a bunch of skill checks then spawn in as a police officer, get caught in 2 min dead round end. I would recommend Dead by Daylight over this because you actually can play the game.

worth a penny
This is defiantly more of a stealth strategy version of friday 13th. different to just a hunt and kill asap and im all for it
As far as it goes this game was everything i expected a halloween game would look like and play like and illfonic delivered a good experience and im very pleased at the result. however as of now be wary that right now (atleast for me) the biggest issue is performance and how it dips later into the matches even if you meet the standard requirements on steam, especially as micheal, theres also general jank and a couple of bugs here and there, the only really bad bug i ever ran into was getting softlocked when picking a perk card but it only happened once and never again, a lot of people are just hating for the sake of hating on gun and illfonics past so if i were you i would just ignore those reviews because they rate the game based on illfonic as a studio rather than on the games own merits. EDIT: i forgot but PLEASE do something about the way AI citizens interact with cars because as of right now it is very annoying to try and get them inside and get a full car.
Game is fun, but isn't perfect. The only issues are technical, the core of the game is perfection. I know not everyone is happy with the state of the game, but hey, we were the idiots who decided to pre order and buy on launch so we got no one to blame but ourselves.
