Take The Shape of Evil as Michael Myers or save your neighbors as a Hero of Haddonfield in Halloween, the ultimate asymmetrical horror sandbox.
As Michael, players wear the mask, become the Boogeyman, and stalk innocent residents with relentless obsession. Utilizing a nightmarish array of abilities, Michael leverages shadows and stealth to satisfy his bloodthirst. This doesn’t mean Haddonfield is going down without a fight. Frightened townsfolk will call the local authorities and even fight back when threatened, incentivizing Michael to avoid detection. And for the first time ever, fans of the transformative original film will have the option to witness the haunting narrative events surrounding "The Night He Came Home" through the eyes of Michael Myers in a standalone singleplayer story mode.

In dynamic and ever-changing 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer matches, hero players must arm themselves with everyday household items, weapons, and knowledge to combat an unpredictable and unkillable enemy. Convincing townsfolk and contacting the police will lead to increasingly powerful and thorough neighborhood patrols. To even the odds, you can command and equip NPCs with weapons to outsmart or even overpower The Shape, providing precious windows for escape.
This immersive horror sandbox is powered by Unreal Engine 5 to deliver engaging and dynamic gameplay systems, life-like NPCs, hauntingly realistic visuals, cinema-quality lighting, and endless scares for you and your friends. Asymmetrical horror comes home in Halloween.

This takes me back to Friday the 13th. Its not as GOOD. But its pretty fun. Def needs some fixes and optimization. But other then that. The proximity chat is nice. Should be more survivor players. Also plays on Linux so that's a W for me.
U need to learn it but after all its Okay

I played 20 hours on the first day, this is a cool game. Lots of bad reviewers don't understand how to play yet or they take issue with the bugs.
Yes I would - little buggy right now but what the hell, beats being tunnelled on DBD and beats being dived by Tracer and Cat on Overwatch. Win Win.
I really like the game, GAME CRASHING: although my game crashes in the middle/end of a match witohut any reason and explanation ( nothing from steam or other system explain that it crashed) it just instantly closes the game out of nowhere and my game runs smoothly . RUNNING ANIMATION: I find the running animation a little funny and unnatural for the aesthetic of the game. GAME MENU: The menu with the house should be replaced with a video or something with the scenery the devs of the game made, not a whole fully rendered building that drops fps in the lobby.... same for the graveyard, but the killer and civilian menu runs nice! HAIR PHYSICS:I dont like that i have to turn my view distance to more than low to activate the hair psysics of the characters too, maybe make a different selection for the hair physics activation, but it shouldn't be the view distance setting..
I think that people may have a fundamental misunderstanding of this game. It has been fun and frustrating at times. It isnt as polished as I would like a game to be on day 1 regardless of if it is the deluxe edition day 1 or regular priced day 1. There are bugs. I got stuck in a shower, some of the challenges in single player will not progress properly, and i've seen other people have similar issues. That being said, i'm having fun with it. Its got great atmosphere, even with the bugs in single player i'm having fun trying to do the challenges. I like the customization options and that I can actually unlock things through playing and engaging with the game. I think things will get balanced and patched as time goes on but a few hours in and its been pretty fun. 40 bucks seems appropriate, 60 is a little steep for the additional characters and cosmetic but i'd say for 40 its worth a try and if you love it upgrade to support the team. Its launching at a great time - entering the -ber months and leading up to actual Halloween is something that adds to my excitement for the game.
If you like these kinds of games is fantastic. It is what I wanted to replace Friday the 13th and more!
Game needs a lot more polish but I've been having fun despite the issues. I'm not really as interested in the online multiplayer, so I do like that you can make progress by playing the story/private matches with yourself or friends. I hope there's more content that you can do solo later down the line. There's definitely a lot of things that need to be patched. I had a lot of bugs that made some challenges hard to complete and the optimization is REALLY rough, though the recent hotfix did improve it a bit. I kind of wish there was a neutral rating. I recommend the game if you're fine with waiting for patches to roll out, otherwise maybe wait until some updates have dropped.
i already see dbd bots across social media commenting on this game without really giving it a chance outside of thinking its just a dbd clone. what makes this game exponentially better than dbd right out the gate is that your teammates cant sabotage you. that is the number one downfall of dbd. youre either getting trolled by another survivor or youre in a lobby with new survivors that DONT KNOW BARE MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE about the game just because you didnt play every day. and oh yeah theyre gonna reset it in a month anyways....so youre stuck with new players even if you played for thousands of hours. its also funny to see people talk about the animations of this game like dbd hasnt had horrible animations (and still does) for its entire run. the fact that this game has so many things you can do in a match makes it truly different each match. its not "oh more new default console survivors. i know im not going to escape so the match is pretty much already over. they cant last in chase for more than 2 seconds." so many dbd matches are like this once youve played thousands of hours but dont play every single day of the month. the dbd devs dont care about their community on twitch which is the core of its player base. grinding for perks in this game feels a lot better and more specific to your characters. in dbd you just get bloodpoints....for what even at this point, no one knows. all im saying is this game is new and dont let people that came to dbd during the stranger things chapter tell you that this NEW game is bad and should die. they are ass and stuck on a continuous loop of gens and default console players. YAY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G70NgX1ffFk pls watch this and tell me its amazing and that the gameplay has changed significantly since then
