It’s Halloween night, 1978, the unsuspecting families of the quiet suburban town of Haddonfield are making holiday preparations, and evil has made its way home. Take The Shape of Evil as Michael Myers or save your neighbors as a Hero of Haddonfield in Halloween, the ultimate asymmetrical horror sandbox.
As Michael, players wear the mask, become the Boogeyman, and stalk innocent residents with relentless obsession. Utilizing a nightmarish array of abilities, Michael leverages shadows and stealth to satisfy his bloodthirst. This doesn’t mean Haddonfield is going down without a fight. Frightened townsfolk will call the local authorities and even fight back when threatened, incentivizing Michael to avoid detection. And for the first time ever, fans of the transformative original film will have the option to witness the haunting narrative events surrounding "The Night He Came Home" through the eyes of Michael Myers in a standalone singleplayer story mode.
As a Hero of Haddonfield, it’s your job to alert the residents of Haddonfield to the impending evil and help them escape before falling victim to Michael’s unyielding pursuit. In dynamic and ever-changing 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer matches, hero players must arm themselves with everyday household items, weapons, and knowledge to combat an unpredictable and unkillable enemy. Convincing townsfolk and contacting the police will lead to increasingly powerful and thorough neighborhood patrols. To even the odds, you can command and equip NPCs with weapons to outsmart or even overpower The Shape, providing precious windows for escape.
This immersive horror sandbox is powered by Unreal Engine 5 to deliver engaging and dynamic gameplay systems, life-like NPCs, hauntingly realistic visuals, cinema-quality lighting, and endless scares for you and your friends. Asymmetrical horror comes home in Halloween.

Reviews
Honestly, I buy these illfonic & GUN games at this point hoping they can figure it out. Wait for a sale, or do not expect much. The bugs and balance issues could be fixed to make this a great asym, BUT the track record of these devs says otherwise. I will happily change this review if they can fix the game. Another sloppy product by these devs. Bugs galore Questionable design choices. Good luck finding the escape car if someone repairs it because the only indicator it has to set it apart is the hood is up (unless it's repaired). Technically, nothing impressive. Built on UE5, runs as poor as you'd expect. (film grain makes the artifacting horrible) Lack of survivor tutorial is crazy considering nothing is explained in game (character stats, items, perk deck etc.) Everything is just a guess or assumption. Hard to judge the gameplay loop because every match has some sort of bug or stalls out because NPC are hiding. About half of my matches go okay, but when they don't. It feels awful. Wild RNG (knowing illfonic, it's a bug) can make finding escapes or finding NPCs ridiculous. NPCs are the focus of the game, but they constantly get stuck or ignore Michael so he just gets a free kill.

a little rough around the edges but im having so much fun with it.

I normally don't write reviews, but since this game is under attack for some reason, I thought I would give my two cents after playing it for a day and a half. I personally have only encountered a few bugs, and only one of them was game breaking (I got stuck in a bathtub I REPEAT DO NOT APPROACH THE TUBS). I played through the whole story, and I like that the challenges are actually... well... challenging. They make you approach the chapter from different angles, which I really enjoy. The multiplayer is soo fun! I've personally been playing strictly solo, and I'm having a great time. The matches feel repetitive in the sense that the objectives are the same, but apart from that, I think the perk system and RNG elements help keep it enjoyable. Overall, I definitely recommend it if you like this style of game. Yes, there are bugs, but that is expected SPECIALLY during Early Access.
This game is really fun but it will get boring after 3 hours will come back to this
solid balancing, if you are one of those people who are saying that you don't know how to win in the multiplayer you might have the lowest IQ ever. It's pretty self explanatory and its different. The game just came out as well and everyone is still learning so you can expect to know exactly how to play the game instantly, its not DBD. Bad bugs and mediocre optimization aside, this is super fun, really hoping it lasts.
