Its 8-Bit Dark souls: Halloween Boogaloo
Great old school platfrom game highly recommend very fun.

I think this is a decent game that I would recommend to people who are a fan of classic NES platformers, but probably wouldn't recommend that outside of that sphere. The game doesn't do anything particularly outstanding, but isn't particularly offensive for the most part either; plays decent, looks okay, decent soundtrack. One huge thing to note is that this game is pretty short, only being 5 levels; but on the flipside of that, if you lose all of your lives, it's back to square one. I personally am not a fan of not having unlimited continues, but with a game this short and likely going for the classic NES style in the most literal interpretation, I can kinda see where they were coming from with that decision. Another thing is that your starting character just flat out sucks. He has a weird arcing projectile that's akin to the rock from Friday the 13th NES and about just as useful. However, as you go through the game, you start to get more characters as you go on, especially if you find the secret areas, and the character get progressively better (the Skeleton you can get in Level 2 I would argue is the first truly viable character). I ended up beating the game with one of the characters added in the free DLC update, the Protagonist, who is actually quite good and even ended up getting the secret ending first time by finding all 6 secret runes. Once you start getting some actually good characters, the game is actually decently fun, though, as stated before, incredibly short. I also am not a fan that you can only unlock one character per run of the game, though at least if you find a character unlock area after unlocking a character in that run, you get an extra life, which is nice. But because you can only unlock one character per run, if you're like me and managed to beat the game after unlocking only a few characters, then, unless you really want to achievement hunt this game, there's no point in going back to unlock everyone else once you've beaten the game. This game does have a decent amount of achievements to hunt if you're into that sort of thing and can extend the life of this game for a bit, but as a whole, the time you get out of this game is likely going to be quite short. If you're a retro platformer junkie, you'll likely get some enjoyment out of this game once you get a viable character, but you probably won't get much out of this game otherwise.
Short, simple, oldschool platformer. Pretty much does what it says on the tin. The bonus in this game is that there are collectibles for a "better ending", there are multiple characters to play and unlock (each have a particular fire pattern/skill) and each of those characters have their own small unique ending as well - which I think is a nice little touch and inspired me to finish the game with each character. It is a short game, but because you have limited lives (oldschool, remember) the whole game as a result is a shorter experience - you can make some changes to this setup though; 99 Lives, 1 HP, etc etc. The chiptunes in this are pretty good and the boss fights are each unique (there's about 10 of them in total) and are challenging enough to master and find patterns; though a nice change-up is when you try different characters and find the difficulty changes on the playstyle you need to adapt to. I would recommend when on sale - as I say, it is a short game, though still fun. :)
Gameplay-wise the pumpkin man isn't doing anything that hasn't been done by a certain Italian plumber circa 1990, but this is a well-polished throwback to that era. Gameplay is crisp and familiar, audio and visuals are very well done. Could hit the sweet spot for you if you find Metroidvanias too complicated/involved and the super-precision 2D platformers (Meat Boy, Dustforce etc) too punishing.
you want to hate yourself and play a game that loops you forever? this is your game, do it, do it, bet you cant beat it! HALLOWEEN FOREVERRRRRRRRRRR
