The game is getting better from previous editions but one issue persists: The memory leak. Since the first edition of TM there has been a memory leak. It's not a massive issue but it does mean that you have to restart the game often. Ridiculously often. The longer you play in a save, the more you have to close and reopen the game. How they haven't fixed this yet I do not know. I've changed PCs and played on my laptop ad yet no matter what there are constant memory leaks.
Brilliant game. Lots of depth, customization and replayability for those that like management games. I enjoy finding a diamond in the rough prospect and then develop them. Its not easy, the game keeps a lot of tension as you progress. Recommended!

TLDR: at bottom of review. Well, for starters I'm not a tennis guy. I know most of my tennis knowledge due to an anime. Baby-Steps, worth checking out if you guys like tennis. Despite that, this game has got me addicted; i'm literally considering tennis lessons now lmaoooo. Appearance wise its rough. The players look quite ugly. Crowd lacks variations. Little jarring when you're trying to coach a japanese girls team and most of the players look like Serena Williams but rougher in the face. The variations in players from nation isn't affected it appears by region as it should be. Its quite literally set to random. Despite its rather ugly appearance the simulation of the tennis matches seems decent from my untrained POV. Crowds roar when you manage a series of tight returns or volleys. You have a plethora of "game plans" to have your students use against your opponents. Risky serves with maximum power flat shots, slices, where your student aims. How they handle their opponent...aiming for their opponents weaker untrained backhand, or trying to catch your opponent off balance before going for a winner. My personal favorite is seeing an exchange of returns before dropping a spicy drop shot, or a slice to open up the angles to try to catch your opponent off guard. You have lots of options and certain styles will do better against others. I watch these matches occasionally stressed out of my mind as I need my students to succeed haha. One small complaint is that 'lob' ing against your opponent seems no matter the stats, timing, etc always results in your opponent smashing it in accurately. I must have watched by now at least 50-60 matches, with very high stats across the board for my players. I've only ever seen 1 time that using a lob was successful. If the opponent tries to lob easy point for my student. Moving on to the management portion of the academy. I think its really well done, you have some options of starting out with an academy with trainers already of various skills, built up facilities, having lots of students, etc. It can get really intense really fast when you're juggling the board members trust/goals while also relying on your star player. My star player hits me with a surprise "lets cut the percent I give the academy from 54% to 4%" and then you wind up losing her or she wants an upfront bonus that you agree too but the board members overrule your decision. STRESSFUL. Anyway in the academy portion you can improve your academy reputation by increasing the quality of the various courts, adding a college campus, shopping districts for revenue, medical facilities, ability to have more coaches/trainers/staff etc. All expensive. Improving the section of the academy you're focusing on improves either the quality of the training, the revenue, the time it takes to recover from an injury, etc. Lots to manage there. Also scouting department for gauging talent and how quickly they can manage that. Training a student takes time. It relies on the quality of the training court, the quality of the coach/trainer, the potential of the student AND the bond between the staff and student. This can be very frustrating as progress starts tapering off the higher in level your tennis players become. Which makes sense logically. To get to the advanced level it requires talent, and time. You need to manage training + morale + and form of your player. It takes some balancing to get right. Customizing your training plans to include enough rest, 2 team events to develop staff relationship, and improve in an area: technically, physically, and mentally while competing in tournaments to improve form, and cash flow. TLDR: ugly on the surface but significant depth on the inside. Wish it was better looking and maybe had more than one mod out there. Wish there was better looking players/pictures of them. If you are a Tennis lover then you'll probably enjoy this game really much. If you are into management simulators this one is surprisingly excellent. I probably wouldn't suggest this for the average gamer. I however am really into this. So it gets my upvote. Its a work of passion for sure. I haven't had any issues with maintaining form/memory crashes etc. So these issues must have been addressed as seen in the other reviews.
I always thought that sports and especially computer games not a place for political disputes. But here the creators of the game decided that they have the right to consider that some countries is better than others. Russia and Belarus are represented by white flags here. It is easy to guess why, but I will say again - sports and computer games are not a place to represent any political views, so I think that this product will not take place in my library.
No backup game save in case of crash, our save disappears.
