Every story needs an end, and in Half Sword, it often means losing your head - quite literally. As this is a simulation game, death is final…
Be Warned: Half Sword is an extremely violent and gory game. I mean… we do have a Chief Blood Officer. Witness skull-crushing blows, limb decapitations, and gruesome displays of entrails and bloodshed, all intricately tied to the weapon and armor choices of both you and your opponents.

Been a long time player of Half Sword, since the early demo and playtests. I got Early Access the day it launched, it was a broken mess. Compared to the demo it was a shell of it's former self. I wanted to wait before writing this review to see if the devs were actually going to show love or just take the money any run. I had faith they would, but more updates came out that made the game almost unplayable and then nothing... Four months went by with complete silence from the devs. I lost hope... But then it happened.... There it was, an update queued for Half Sword waiting to be installed. Is this real? Could it be? YES! It was! An update with tons of fixes, settings, a new map and a dev blog with an apology to all of us for the long wait. What followed for the next few days was more improvements based of fan feedback, more settings, new weapons! I can finally say that Half Sword is getting the love it deserves and It feels better than ever! Combat, AI, Blood/Gore, Customization have been completely reworked and it feels absolutely glorious! The Abyss still isn't great though, I never liked the coffin you wake up in or the zombies they added in EA, and I still don't. I have finished the progression so thankfully I don't have to deal with it anymore, I know a lot of people hate it so hopefully it will be changed in the future. Other than that, I have been on the game non-stop since this update and I don't see myself stopping any time soon! If you asked me a month ago I would've said don't waste your money. But now, If you're coming from the demo or you're a new player, buy this game! There's still a long way to go before 1.0 but we're finally on the right track to making this game one of the greatest of all time! Long Live Half Sword!
Fatal error here, fatal error there, everything, everywhere. You have a good run in the Abyss after a thousand times of dying because you tripped ONCE and the npc's won't let you get up again, you feel that this time you'll have a good run, then you get a fatal error. Also, (specifically in the Abyss) when you trip ONCE, you will not get up again, if there is 1 enemy you have a 1/4 chance to get back up again, at 2 you are instantly softlocked and need to reload because they just constantly pound you so you cant get up, they dont even kill you they just stand on you and hit the ground beside you like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots. Also after the latest update the Amount of Loot in the Abyss is nearly 0, out of 10 crates there is something usefull in MAYBE 2, and in the other 8 there is sometimes a jug and most other times NOTHING! Also your character has a stroke every time he picks something up, with weapons its ok but with everything else you need to press the pickup button MULTIPLE TIMES so that he maybe picks it up. Dont get me wrong this game CAN be fun, a lot actually, I have like 80 hours in the game right now but it's so DAMN unfinished, this kind of stuff is just getting so damn annoying, I just feel like its. . . . .FATAL ERROR
Over all 8.7/10. Fun and challenging but can be very buggy at times, repeatedly the UI boxes are noticeably lower than they seem(about 1mm bellow), and sometimes when a enemy gets really close the physics engine bugs out and you just go flying. But even with the bugs the game is still really fun especially for a early access game.
The devs did an amazing job improving the game since january, it's now so much fun GG
amazing turn around from the launch. very enjoyable now.
Half Sword is an excellent game! I think co-op is amazing and can't wait for full optimizations. and possibly multiplayer?
Fun game. Like sword fighting a lot and it's just the right amount of goofy and fun for me.
