I only write this review in hopes someone sees it and doesn't waste 20$+ The game is built purely on toothpicks & gum, assets with wonky sizes and shapes that hardly make sense. The game at it's core is incredibly broken. The hair & character models barely work in conjunction with the tools and furniture. It's just straight up cheeks. The vacuum is a micro ♥♥♥♥♥ compared to the door or even a chair. The creators didn't test their own game before releasing it out. Half the items/tools have inconsistent name (like spray bottle / sprayer etc. etc.). The only thing this game is worth is it's cutscene art and the 2d, drawn characters. Also, unlike other hair simulators I've tried, the game locks you into rigid movements with the styling tools - allowing you for no creativity, much like the game itself. The fact you have to spend 2.5 hours just to FINALLY unlock the ability to even CURL & CUT HAIR is insane. The only reason people play hair simulators is for the hair part itself, why is the sandbox locked behind an EXCRUCIATINGLY LONG campaign? The tutorial is genuinely unplayable and the first salon makes me feel like I am bringing in clients to harvest their organs. The entire game is so uninviting to the player and does not respect your time. Incredibly clunky and glitchy. The character models phase into each other, the list just goes on atp. Whoever the artist for the 2D characters/cutscenes is - work for somebody else!!
As anyone can see, I have spent a lot of my time with this game, and I really enjoy it. As an actual cosmetologist, I was genuinely impressed with the hair cutting mechanics, and naively assumed the developers were aware that they had something special cooking here. Yes, there are bugs, it gets repetitive and boring after awhile, there are crucial game elements missing, and the DLC is a shameless ripoff (you have to pay 5 dollars to get beards and long hair? that's bullsh*t). But even today, I can't help but hold a tiny bit of hope that the developers will honor this game. Like literally I'm not a game design expert, but I find myself wishing I could fix this game up, some of the issues are so tedious, like piece of furniture not matching the catalogue picture of it, it drives my OCD crazy. Rewashing the clients hair two times instead of once, ughh. Sad that this is abandonware now, as far as I can tell. It's been ages since the last update. Developers, please change my mind. I will HAPPILY change my review, really.
I love simulator games and was thoroughly disappointed... Graphics are subpar and it was just plain boring. Skip this one.
It is so dissapointing that in all this time your game is still as broken as it was when i bought it around launch. I took a break for over a year because there was one white glowing light in my salon that annoyed me come back and there are now more. there in between each wall and floor "square" you paint. Also ive been playing for a hour already and i have had to reset my game 3 times due to complications. I don't recommend this game at all as it seems they've never cared. They saw a untapped market and decided to milk it.
Character creator is extremely buggy especially on hair ironically gameplay is great but very grindy and slow

I do enjoy playing this game, but it is extremely clunky. From what i've read, the game has been abandoned by the devs with no more updates, so things like certain characters who want "styling" will cause issues for your game. One specific female character requests a style that the game won't recognize (even though it is an option) and forces you to fail that character and lose points. The beard/moustache addon also does not work at all. Tried countless times to get it to work.
I picked this up hoping for a relaxing hairdresser sim and got something that's genuinely fun in concept but rough around the edges — crashes hit me a couple times, so save constantly. The hair physics are actually kind of impressive when they work, and I enjoyed the no-rush approach where clients don't have a real-time limit. That said, the graphics are exactly what the store page shows, so no surprises there, and the gameplay loop of wash-cut-dry does get repetitive fast. For the price, I think it's worth it if you go in with measured expectations and a decent PC.
This creative salon management sim is delightfully relaxing and rewarding! Run your own shop with fun styling challenges , charming interactions ✨, and business growth. Perfect for those who love grooming and strategy! ✂️💇
