Banger indie title. Found out about it from a Megastructures in Fiction Youtube video and I'm so glad I checked this game out. Got my 3 dollars of fun out of one play session. Did the standard, nightmare, and nightmare inverted in about an hour and a half. The following map First Kiln? Brutal. Not sure how far I got, but I've not managed to finish it yet. Its so fun to accidentally yeet yourself off and launch the hook and pray it sticks to something before you splat. There is a camera effect that happens when you plummet far that makes it harder to aim, but still kinda managable, that is really well done. Lots of speed runner potential as well. I've found some hilarious lines that circumvent large sections of the map. On First Kiln, you can finish the first section with only two grapples if you time your hook just right. Feels great when you can land it! Mechanics feel great. Monster is spooky. Hope to see more from these devs!
Idols of Ash is a short but memorable indie horror game with a grappling hook that feels great to use. Descending deeper into the abyss is tense enough on its own, but once the "creature" starts chasing you, everything changes. Suddenly, every swing and every jump matters, and hearing it getting closer while you're desperately looking for your next grapple point is genuinely stressful. The oppressive atmosphere, eerie sound design, and minimalist storytelling keep the tension high without relying on constant jump scares. If you're looking for a horror game where movement is just as important as survival, Idols of Ash is definitely worth checking out.
An amazing concept. The gameplay is so satisfying and I honestly loved getting all the achievements. Swinging around with the grappling hook never got boring and it always felt fun. The story is simple but surprisingly melancholic and the atmosphere fits it really well. I also really liked the environments and the creature design. My only complaint is that I wish there was just a little bit more. The game ends pretty quickly and I would've loved to see the concept expanded a bit further because I think there was so much more potential. Overall a really unique indie horror game that I had a lot of fun with and can definitely recommend.
INCREDIBLE It's a short game, a frustrating game, a terrifying game, and an amazing game. I'd pay more for this, honestly I am so impressed. I won't spoil much, but do not under any circumstances modify the enemy movement speed options
As mentioned by others, this is a cool and concise game. I appreciate how straightforward it is, and would love to see more.
that millipedes surely likes to be molester
Developer. PLEASE MAKE THE HOLE DEEPER. Or give us a New area! What you made here is Awesome. I played it with my friend the couch and its a blast passing on a remote between 3 deaths (house rules). But after we were done, Im not looking forward to replaying the same level, my friend doesnt mind though. But Can you Please make another level?!
Good game. Gets the blood pumping, hearing those skittering noises right on your tail. Rewards risk, builds confidence. Wish it was longer, beat normal mode in 30 minutes. Worth it for the price.
Прошёл под BTS и угарнул с тупой сколопендры на обычной сложности. На кошмаре с меня угарала сколопендра под Doom
An excellent, short horror game that eventually loses the horror aspect but turns into an excellent platformer with unique movement tech. My only complaint is that there's no workshop or custom levels (yet, at least). But there are 3 levels with inverted variants and the last two are fairly long. Well worth the price!
