About

Lightness is measured from 8 points in your character, indicated by the outline. Stay hidden from guards to choke them from behind. After a successful knockout, don't forget to hide the body from patrolling guards.

As a mutant seagull armed with opposable thumbs, you can conquer the heights by climbing. Sail ships have climbable rigging, and the pipes in mines provide alternative routes. You can also slide down ropes and select the next climbable element in junction points.

Tools like grappling hooks, bombs, doze grenades, winches to lift gratings, and of course good old hand tools for some bludgeoning, can be found to clear your way.

The objectives take you to sail ships, mines and rusted industrial buildings. Pick up a torch or lantern (which can be lit at stoves and burning barrels), to see where you're going. Just watch out for guards.

You’re the stealth expert in a crew sent on a mission across the seas to help defend their home town against an opposing force. There are currently 3 missions + tutorial (3-4 hours of content at minimum), with 2 more missions to come.

Like I always say, games are worth playing! Gust of wind is no expedition, even with its over abuse of the GPU, the clipping of graphics and the fact that this is truly a early access. I still found myself interested in playing as the story and concept are fresh and fun. While I had many an issue with the FPS/GPU system the game developer was amazing with his responses, understanding, and consideration to helping out. While the issue is still at hand it is under control, and being worked on. For that simple reason I would suggest looking into GUST OF WIND. While I am suggesting this game, be mindful it is in development, and still has a way to go before it is even consider close to finished. While I would love to give this game a neutral rating on steam, that simply can not be done. So in the mean time I will provide a thumbs up and watch the progression of Gust of Wind and provide more updates/feedback as needed. In the meantime I have provided a game play video below for you to watch with no commentary so you can make your own informed decision about possibly purchasing and playing the game. )REVIEW AS OF NOVEMBER 2024) Gust of Wind might be a one man's project, but unfortunately it doesn't quite pass the threshold of being a playable game, it falls short. Yeah, I get the enormous budget limitations, lack of time and what not... but no. Too many technical issues with collision, AI, hitboxes, falling under the map, weirdness with environments' textures. Granted, it can be indeed finished from start to the end, I did it in just over 3 hours, sure. But it was not a pleasant journey most of the time. Game consists of just about two ships, and two small islands + one big mine complex inside one of them. It just so happens to be a maze. It's... not a pretty level design, or good, or ambitious. Story is pretty basic, and not very interesting so far. It ends with... we know you're a traitor, so I will have to come with you?... and you somehow won't kill me when I'm asleep?... Weird. There are moments on the Mine island where you will have to backtrack a few times, including rowing the boat far away. It all could have been honestly skipped. I guess it's more, or longer, content.. Graphics are quite bad and basic, the game runs like utter ♥♥♥♥♥ on High settings, on Medium it's bareable, but still varied. RTX 360 and i5 12400f can't handle this game at 1440p60 High settings at all, it seems. Models are a-okay, animations are bad mostly, there are a few that are interesting like the one for lighting up the lantern. Animations for opening doors might be interesting for a few first times, but each time later it becomes too long and annoying. Plus, it constantly changes the camer into FPP if you were in TPP before. It happens quite too often for my taste. So - buggy, messy, visually not compelling, badly optimized, story also not too compelling so far, some interesting mechanics like the climbing system, basic combat with pretty bad hitboxes. Stealth itself sort of works most of the time, the light indicator works as it should, in FPP at least. What this game needs - ironing out all the bugs, collisions, hitboxes, entirely. Fixing the optimization, maybe adding "custom" graphical options to choose from. An actual Town/City map, Thief-like, with lots of buildings to enter and steal from. Stop with the islands, stop with the mazes like the Mine complex. More ambitious, interesting level design. Oh, and forcing this game to be in FPP and optimizing the hitboxes and all the stuff for it might be the best choice for this game. Third Person really doesn't work here, only in the dark where TPP is a lot brighter than FPP for some reason. Even for 10 USD or lower than that, this might be not good enough for release yet, for the overall gaming standards. For a one person job? Maybe quite a bit more, but lots of stuff to fix and expand on left, might take years.

Great effort right here with a bit of jank. I've quite enjoyed the story and stealth elements in Gust of Wind. Never would I have imagined that there would be a stealth game that revolves around pigeons. They need to work on the enemy AI. There have been times where I've been right in there line of sight and they'd just walk right by me. I'd also like for em to add voice acting down the line. I feel it'd enhance the story more. Again not a bad effort from Wrenchpunk Games. Gameplay here: https://youtu.be/qqrzrYHiTFY
