8/10 ( 9 with DLC heroes ) Amazing roguelike co-op shooter game to play with friends. There are a lot of guns and builds to try out. The heroes are all unique in their playstyle and fun. However, there are sometimes choppy performance problems, and many of the more interesting heroes are locked behind DLCs. The map and boss variety is okay but can be a bit repetitive after multiple runs. However, the core gameplay is still very fun, responsive and addicting to play.
good game but it's repetetive
It's always a pleasure when actual art comes out of China. It's all too common to see Chinese games that are lazy, use AI generation, lazily taking other games' ideas, stuffed with microtransactions... When something like this comes along, it really feels good to be able to just enjoy the game as a quality product. Gunfire Reborn is a charming roguelite looter shooter. You pick your character out of several unique heroes who all have different playstyles. Some very different, but a decent variety nonetheless. You then fight your way through first person shooter arenas. When conquering each arena, you're typically given a choice of power ups to augment your playstyle. There are different types of powerups you can get, from items that give you more gold to augments to your character's fundamental abilities. The gameplay is buttery smooth, well optimized and has never crashed on me. The gamefeel is so natural that I've watched a 6 year old play this game. He didn't get too far but he had a great time. I can't really say anything stands out remarkably. The artstyle is probably the most notable aspect, with every character and enemy being some anthropomophized animal. Thankfully, nothing is sexualized and the animals aren't TOO human. It doesn't come across as some weirdo furry's fetish that he's sticking in everyone else's face. The artstyle is cute, charming, and does a great job of depicting the characters. In particular, you can tell exactly who characters like Ao Bai are just by looking at them. A tough and no nonsense fellow. Ultimately this game is an easy recommend if you like FPS games. An absolutely astounding array of weird and whacky weapons (you can just grab a dragon and that's your gun. It's a flamethrower) make replays a pleasure. Characters aren't typically locked in to a type of weapon that they have to use, but rather they get bonuses that work alongside the weapons. Dashes, crowd control, elemental effects, dual wield and other powers make up the abilities your characters have, which rarely amount to just making more projectiles and usually assist in the arena setting. The studio have continuously supported the product, added DLC characters as well as free to play unlockable characters, expanded the campaign, weapon roster, added new mechanics. A hardworking studio with talented artists and programmers that deserve your time and money.
as much as I love this game But getting hit in this game is NOT forgiving AT ALL! Even in the Easiest Difficulty
