The game didn't respect the "Music volume" option because it kept playing the music even though I disabled it. It immediately starts moving you which made me sick and there was no option to disable this. I tried maybe four or five times to boot up the game before it _finally_ figured out I had controllers. All together a dreadful experience. 1/10 because the environments in the trailer look nice.
I live in Sweden. We have long and dark winters. I also suffered from depression and anxiety from my extremely heavy workload. This is often the place I resort to relax myself. Tried to spend some time in the selected environment to meditate a bit. The meditation narrative is limited. So you can instead independently play your own meditation guide, or like me just meditate yourself if you don't need a guide. The radio function doesn't seem to work in Sweden. Can't imagine these 10-20 min sessions iterated to 18.4 hour already.
Fantastic game but may suffer from the OpenSSL crash bug on Intel 10th and 11th generation processors: https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/openssl-sha-crash-bug-requires-application-update.html Until we have a permanent fix, we have a workaround that should let the users affected play the game. You can find it below. Step 1. Open "Control Panel" by searching for it in Windows search bar, by pressing the Windows button or key. Step 2. Go to "System & Security" Step 3. Go to "System" Step 3. Press "Advanced system settings" Step 4. Press "Environmental Variables" Step 5. Create a new "System Variable" (NOT USER VARIABLE) Step 6. Enter the following into the Variable name box: OPENSSL_ia32cap Step 7. Enter the following into the Variable value box: ~0x20000000 Step 8. Now press OK. You may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect.
This is very well done and the best app I found so far. If allow you to choose you environment from maybe 20 (-ish?), then you select your meditation theme, and most themes have about 10 meditations to choose from in 2, 5 or 10 minutes formats. (Some theme are more limited or have fewer sessions) You can then select the music from maybe 25(-ish?) choices as well. Everything but selecting an environment is optional. On the Index, you can use the thumbstick to teleport to a random location, or use the trigger to teleport to where you are pointing, HalfLife Alyx style, but also with the ability to choose your height if you want to float above the ground. The visual are very colorful. Think Valheim or Fortnite... well just look at the videos, really. The menus are incredibly well polished and the navigation is intuitive and pleasant to use. The negative things: The graphics, even at high, lack a bit of details for what I would have liked. Again, it reminded me of Valheim. Apparebtly newer environment are better but I have yet to try them. I wish all the voice actors would record each session so we could choose the voice we want for a session. There is currently no option to change a voice. Each type of medidation have their own, fix, voice. So if you want a male voice for the maternity meditation series, it is currently not an option. Personnally, I wish they had a female voice with a slight ASMR vibe too. But that's just personnal preference. The teleportation with the stick is random. Seems like any input on the stick sends you to a random location. It would be good to have a way to go back. Like LeftStick would go back to the previous locations. Sometime I would quickly jump to find a good spot only to "zap" too quickly and being unable to go back. It did become unresponsive (only once) halfway during the "Introduction" (which is just a preview of all environments), but I had zero issues using it to meditate so far. In conclusion: I got a game during a sale. I feel I stole it. This game absolutely worth its full price. Unless I missed something, this is, by far, the leader in VR meditation.
absolutely wonderful. the variety of environments are great and the guided meditations were good too. I can't wait for them to upgrade the fidelity of the environments in a sequel. It would be truly something special
I was a bit sceptical about this app, as I had read it was not working with an Oculus Quest and VirtualDesktop properly. But I cannot confirm this. For me it works 100% well. And I appreciate the whole concept.
This program is pretty good. I appreciate that the developers seem to utilise feedback. One thing I would like to add would be guided imagery style mindfulness meditations that sync with the VR surroundings. I understand that there are so many different types of meditations, it's impossible to include them all. Personally, I think VR provides an especially cool opportunity for mindfulness type meditations(or any kind of guided imagery meditation, really!) and I would love if if could be incorporated.
Takes meditation to a whole new level. Very happy with it!
