About

GUG is a sandbox simulation roguelike where you generate monsters—”gugs”—by typing any word or phrase. Your choice of words determines how they look, behave and battle. Type “banana flamethrower” and you might get a spiky yellow pyromaniac. Type “emotional support gremlin” and get… Well, who really knows?
Every word wields unexpected power, so experiment and see what incredibly broken gugs you can concoct.

Each run throws you into a new procedurally generated arena—lava jungles, haunted car parks, algorithmic chaos pits—and challenges you to create a truly unpredictable squad of gugs. You will:
Adapt to randomised rules, enemy types and objectives
Tweak your team’s strategy to seize victory or fail gloriously
Unlock new modifiers, environments and gug abilities
Ask yourself why your tank explodes when it gets healed

Gugs don’t just look weird—they work weird, too. Each creature evolves both visually and logically.
Mix and match brains, attacks, movement styles and passives across different gugs
Use procedural logic systems to combine effects in strategic—or utterly unhinged—ways
Watch unexpected synergies emerge, then break them when your next bright idea goes disastrously wrong
Whether you’re a strategy min-maxer or an architect of chaos, GUG rewards curiosity and punishes overconfidence.

The GUGverse is shared. Gugs you make might show up in someone else’s game. Another player’s fearsome "Toilet Cactus" might just ruin your whole run—and appetite. Every new gug makes the game bigger and more unpredictable for everyone.
Encounter gugs made by other players
Upload and share your best/worst creations
Join regular challenges and gug hunt bounties
Break the meta or break the game—we welcome both

This isn’t a card game. It’s not your standard autobattler. It’s not a serious roguelike. GUG is GUG: a creature collector where the gugs are ludicrous, the logic is real, and your new arch-nemesis might be “Mildly Upset Pigeon”.

I really enjoyed the demo and purchased the game upon release. This said, upon launching the game it felt like it was just rebranded and pushed out the door as a full product. I waited for 6 months to see if there would be any improvements or fixes, but as of the time of this review there has been nothing. Sadly since then there really hasn't been any movement forward (patches, releases or communications from the Devs). The game still frequently generates unusable or broken GUGs which makes progression a coin flip. If there had been more communication or had there been some indication that work was being put into the game I probably would have remained interested - but as it stands I wouldn't be able to recommend GUG to anyone. As a tech demo or concept game this was promising. As a full release it falls short.
gug fun weird mechanics but fun YOU CAN USE ANY WORDS (when i say any i mean ANY)
Fun game, many play styles. I have many team types that I copied from my Magic decks from back in the day. The game still has some balance issues, but I'm sure it will be worked out. I played the Demo a lot before release and much has changed for the better. If you are a fan of turn based card games like magic then you will like gug, There are a lot of possible deck builds you just have to be creative. Example (god, hades) are OP wiping the board clean when you are in a jam or use Jesus gug to revive gugs you have lost. I give this game 7/10.
La idea de este juego es demasiado buena pero aun tiene bugs, espero que en un futuro esos detalles sean corregidos.
I dont think its as bad as some reviewers think it is, the game is creative and fun. I do enjoy the art style and the word prompts given to generate varied Gugs.
Great indie game! Sometimes the abilities don't work, but that's just the limitations of large language model AIs.
o jogo trava demais e esta com muitos bugs,um exemplo é você vencer as batalhas sem ter começado, e se for ver a comparação com a demo é muito pior, espero que melhorem.
I had fun with the demo as it was a new experiment that, for the user, whas simple and easy to play with. As a larger game it isn't as interesting or fun as I hoped it to be.
Endless content, silly as hell, first AI generated influenced content I actually enjoy
