Grim Fandango Remastered

Having never game this game beforehand, Grim Fandango is a good game that honestly deserves a remake more than just a remaster. The base game here is good, an interesting protagonist, a diverse voice cast with really good performances, interesting characters in an interesting world to explore- its all here. Great story, but this game definately has its problems, 3d rendered backgrounds don't always show off if rooms are bigger than they seem/ if a room or another area exists. Certain years (chapters) can be hard to navigate due to how big they are (i'm looking at you year 2..). Some puzzles can have the most baffing solutions (could just be a me thing.. IDK). And sometimes the way to progress/ get certain items means talking to characters and hitting certain dialog trees. I know that its a point and click adventure and you're gonna want to talk to characters, but it can be pretty frustrating to find out that the solution to a puzzle was getting an item to a character to forgot to talk to down their one specific dialog tree. I played with only mouse and keyboard, which may have caused some of my criticisms above, but the game's controls leave room for improvement, especally when driving the car. Other than that, the improved graphics, widescreen support, and dev commentary are nice additions to a dated game. I feel thought that a remake would have better in fixing the problems this game has and making it a better experience.
