Unfortunately this game isnt great. Due to really bad game design, its just not fun to play. Unit limits prevent you from having large armies, the base building is very slow and boringc and not intuitive. Large bases are not possible. Unit variety is very limited and uninspired, theres nothing special and every unit looks similar. There are super units, but theyre not worth the money, because theyre just bad. Graphics are ok, but i dont like the artdesign. Cinematics are good though. Soundtrack is very nice, but ingame sounds however are lame and sound cheap. The gunfire sounds are too similar. If you want to play a good rts, C&C and Supreme Commander are they way to go.

If you're looking for a CnC style RTS game with a strong, high-quality campaign, and unique take on factions mechanics, then this game is one to look at. Note that Multiplayer is pretty much dead, considering the game's age and low exposure. If that's something you're okay with then this isn't a bad game to try for the price (or on sale if you can get it). Faction-wise, their unique mechanics are fun to play around with. Beta faction uses standard military units with mechs, builds in hubs and research attachments to unlock tech. Humans use drones and conduits to connect power through their bases, similar to Protoss but in a jigsaw fashion, while the Goo uses liquid like nanobots to form different units without any buildings. There is also a 4th faction called the Silence that converted native species into alien-like monstrosities. Standard features include the campaign, DLC campaign, skirmish, and mod support. Again, multiplayer is effectively dead with no players, so if that's something you want, then I would suggest playing something else.
Mission 7 in the campaign is so difficult, that it stops me dead in my track, even on easy. Can't recommend.
game is fun to play alone and with others and its fun to spam drovers
I actually liked this game and thought it had a great sci-fi premise and factions. Shame they didn't make a sequel on that cliff hanger ending! Although this isn't a Starcraft 2 or warcraft 3, I'd still recommend this for any avid RTS fans. Especially since this genre is sadly very niche these days, so not exactly a lot of new RTS games being developed anymore
If your like me and you liked the old style of RTS like in Warcraft II this is for you.
A somewhat short and fun RTS that introduces you to 3 very different alien races with 3 very different ways of playing. If Grey Goo 2 has a longer campaign for each race, I'll def be buying it. While I didn't actually like playing as the Grey Goo itself that much or the non-human race, I really liked the way the human base building functioned. I liked it so much I actually ended up just building a base as massive as possible and created a sortof Tower Defense game for the AI with the human bases turrets and walls. There is DEF potential for a Grey Goo 2 if Petroglyph ever decides to make it, there's something really satisfying about watching the Human's base materialize from nowhere, I have no idea why.
Really, really boring. Unballanced. Not worth my time.
This is one of the slowest RTS games i have ever played! Building anything feels like it takes an eternity. i couldn't play anymore of this slugfest
