Surprised this one isn't higher rated! Game is really fun, but I'll admit, I'm a little burnt out on the survivor genre so I haven't dove very far yet. This one is quite a bit different than most in a good way. I like the map function and the way the runs work compared to vampire survivors. The meta progression in the game is super fun and probably one of the best implementations that I have seen. It's pretty sold in terms of build viability as well. I didn't really feel like there were any clear winners that I picked every time. I'll probably find out I'm wrong here as I progress, but it felt pretty good where I am currently at. Definitely worth the money on sale.
Rogue: Genesia is an incredibly fun roguelite that stands out thanks to its massive variety of builds and upgrade combinations. Every run feels different, giving players countless ways to create powerful synergies through weapons, abilities, and passive upgrades. The gameplay is fast, addictive, and highly rewarding, encouraging experimentation and creative strategies. Whether you prefer critical-hit builds, projectile-focused setups, or status-effect combinations, the game offers plenty of options to suit your playstyle. What truly makes Rogue: Genesia shine is its replayability. The huge number of possible builds keeps every run fresh and makes it hard to put down. Verdict: A highly addictive roguelite with exceptional build diversity and endless replay value. Easy to recommend for fans of the genre.
transistion into midgame is a bit of a chore, afterwards it gets interessting again
So the design of the game, the way I see it, is broken. You have a game that's either WAY easy or way "hard". In one hand is so easy that the game consists on you walking while everything around you dies and there's no challenge whatsoever. The other possibility is the hard way, witch is just slow, you go around the monsters waiting for them to die and that's it, they take more time to die each stage till boredom kills you. Maybe that's the challenge. All this inside a game that has no curve of learning, all the stuff (so much unnecessary stuff) is throw at you and it doesn't matter if you know what it is because it doesn't do much for the experience at the end, it still will get you to the same 2 dead ends. I didn't like the sound design either, but that's maybe just a personal opinion, had to mute it. Also bugged. Also no full joystick integration. Is an incomplete game and even worst, a bad designed one.
Lot of bugs and such. Some are minor, e.g. minor spelling mistakes ("ribon" instead of ribbon) others more significant (power-ups not activating when picked-up). Still, some interesting synergies and evolutions. Decent metaprogression. Initially each 'mission' is way, way, way too long with sometimes dozens of stages requiring thousands of enemies to be killed each stage. But also there's a Quickplay option that makes things more tolerable. You have to play a bit to unlock it though. Overall 7/10. Not much variety truth be told but it's engaging for what it is. Definitely use Quickplay though, otherwise you're looking at a roguelite with metaprogression where you're probably taking hours to go through a single run. Some of those "kill 5000+ enemies" levels are an incredible slog just on their own.
I want to like it. I do. And at times I do like it. Love it even. I like that there's a ♥♥♥♥ ton of stats to manipulate and play around with. There's equipment, forgin/crafting on that equipment and...Jesus, just so many systems to interact with. It really is something like I would want to design if I made video games. I like crunch and weird mechanics. What I don't like is the half assed meta-progression and progression roadblocks that are added to extend out the life of the game. I don't mean unlockable cards I mean when a game has both a way for you to increase your damage and the enemy hp/xp scaling as a meta progression item, it's a net 0 and pretty unneeded. Then, if you can get past that, there's the gameplay. Since it's a Survivaton game, It's pretty common for the screen to get covered in enemies. The only issue is, your attacks can EASILY cover 90% of the screen. And while they're pretty, it's going to cost you your run. 100% hands down, you will lose a run because of how much stuff is flying around on screen at one time. If you're not dealing with that, you may be sitting in one spot with a screen of nonthing but little dots flying around, while you kill everything and I mean everything off screen. I want to love this game, but it needs to QOL and love before it's really a great game.
不错,成型之后可以爽割,就是UI有些简陋。
This has to be my favorite roguelite so far! Loads of contents, lot's of variety, really has that "just one more map" feeling. Strongly recommended if you are in to rougelite/likes.
Fun game that lets you feel powerful.
Hey, it's pretty good!
