Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 20 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10.5 places towards #1, and the 2,491 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.
Grant vs. Lee: Manage hundreds of historical commanders with personal attributes and specialization. Famous commanders inspire soldiers and citizens alike and loss of reputation can be irreparable.
Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.
Bring the Civil War to life: Amazing Civil War re-enactment and combat footage from LionHeart FilmWorks, and an original soundtrack of old time music and drum and fife band.Updates

I stay up late late playing this. I got whiskey and lemons. So far in different plays I have lost a leg and an arm, same guy, Two more limbs and you could have thrown him in the water and called him Bob. This new guy got shot in the groin early on and is listed as impotent. I will get a fine nickname out of that I'm sure. Is it perfect, no. I know what two or three of but auto recruit buttons are but not all. Your men when you first start will rout/run away at the slightest thing. Keep them behind a little and close to other units. I keep messing that up. I haven't played the regular game so I can't say anything about that. Whiskey and Lemons is kind of a role play but not that involved. The problem with moving them like that is the AI don't do much sometimes so you are back there doing nothing. Theirs mods that work on the AI but they are not really for Whiskey and Lemons. Despite that I still love it.
Full fledged game that punches way above it weight class. Has too much depth for me to be honest.

can't wait for napoleon
i used it only for playing battles and I like it after more then 14hrs play. Positioning troops on the battlefield can be a bit tricky and leads sometimes to some unexpected moves of your own army, but that's maybe also realistic because of the actual chaos ruling the battelfield.
This game is very hard to learn but its so good if you love the civil war this game will be great for you
good
It is fun but I don´t want to give a positive. This game has way too many bugs; it’s barely playable, which makes me worry about the Napoleon title. For example, never let your cavalry charge enemy infantry detachment that are recovering artillery—your cavalry will just be wasted and pinned, while not a single enemy soldier will be killed. Pay attention to this detachment with GUNS:0, they are bugged, cannot be harmed or moved or capable to move. The game’s control logic is also deeply concerning. I’m not talking about command delays or readiness; this doesn’t even resemble the control scheme you’d expect from an RTS game. The pathfinding is just catastrophe, especially when your cavalry meet fence.
Grand Tactician: The Civil War is honestly one of the most enjoyable strategy games I've played, especially if you're interested in the American Civil War. What I really love about this game is the depth. You're not just moving armies around and fighting battles. You have to think about recruitment, supplies, logistics, commanders, army organization, politics, economy, and the overall direction of the war. The tactical battles are where the game really shines for me. I love being able to organize my own armies, corps, divisions and brigades, assign commanders, manage reserves, and actually fight large battles in real time. The fact that battles can develop over multiple days makes them feel much more like actual campaigns rather than just isolated RTS battles. I also really enjoy the commander system. Having hundreds of historical officers with different abilities and characteristics makes building an army much more interesting. Sometimes you have a great commander in the wrong position, or a mediocre officer who surprisingly turns into one of your best commanders. It creates a lot of stories during a campaign. The game definitely isn't perfect. The UI can be confusing, some mechanics aren't explained very well, and there are still some rough edges and occasional strange AI behavior. It also has a pretty steep learning curve. But honestly, that's part of the charm for me. Once you understand how the systems work, the game becomes incredibly immersive. Every campaign starts creating its own alternate history, and I often find myself spending more time managing my armies and Order of Battle than actually fighting battles. If you enjoy grand strategy, real-time tactical battles, logistics, military organization, and the American Civil War, I highly recommend giving this game a chance. Definitely Recommended. It may not be the most polished game, but there is nothing quite like Grand Tactician.
Good.
