A visual spectacle, gorgeous to behold, fun to play but also mired in a story, and with characters, that are so animé you will roll your eyes at these tired, worn out tropes. I'm having fun though. I've yet to really engage in any kind of grind but that might be because I've not reached the "end game".

Wil update once I finish the game or give up on it if anything majorly negative pops up. So far, very highly recommend!!!! Pros: - Great art, visuals and animation - Great voice acting in Japanese - Great music - Very satisfying combat, many combos, a lot of different characters with varying mechanics, seems like it will have a high skill ceiling - If you're looking for a "classic" RPG with different classes, elements, fun NPCs, a lot of different enemies with varying attack patterns, and a few extra things you can do, this game is definitely worth it at it's regular price. Cons: - The English voice acting is okay-ish, but certainly leaves something to be desired. (if you know Japanese, ignore this) - The treasures are marked on the map, which makes their existence pointless imo, and are sometimes too many for my taste. So far, I have spent 1/3 of my time in main missions collecting treasure. My advice for the next game: - Better English voice acting. It's hard to read subtitles during the busy parts of the main missions, so leaving it in Japanese, like I do in other games, is a no-go - Model the areas in a way you can discover treasures yourself by simply looking around and doing a bit of exploration. Gamers often see some specific area and think "there's likely treasure there". Having them marked on the map kind of defeats the point of them being there in the first place, might as well make their contents drop from enemies. The only extra guidance necessary would be having a counter telling you how many of the stuff you've collected so far for this map/mission. Also, place fewer chests. It gets a bit tedious at some point.
A fun action RPG with great art design, fantastic combat system and a lighter saturday morning cartoon vibe. A huge amount of post game content too. It can get kinda repetitive but the combat system does carry it.
Hell yeah, this rocks. The story is bland and the dialogues make you cringe constantly, but the animations, VFX and presentation more than make up for it. After getting through the first hours, which are kinda boring and slow, the game picks up the pace. From that point on, and once you get to swap out the MC, the game gets addictive and fun as heck. Highly recommended if you enjoy Monster Hunter, but wish it to was anime flavored. Multiplayer with crossplay is the cherry on top. The only thing that really gets on my nerves is Vyrn's voice, and he comments everything nonstop.
