Whether you're a seasoned Gothic veteran or this is your first time being thrown into the colony, you're in for a true RPG experience with unrestricted exploration like no other.
The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by a relentless horde of orcs. Desperate for powerful weapons to repel them, King Rhobar II orders the mining of vast quantities of magical ore, setting every available prisoner to work in the Khorinis mines. To ensure no one escapes, the King commands his most skilled mages to erect a magical barrier. But something goes terribly wrong, and the magic spirals out of control, trapping everyone inside. The prisoners rebel, transforming the mine into a lawless territory ruled by the Colony’s most brutal inmates.
Now, the King must negotiate with these new rulers, as tensions rise among the mine's factions. Amidst the chaos, the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change everything …

Good game, I really like it. I played the original many times. This time with controller support baked in. It has its issues, just like the original, but I found nothing that cannot be overcome. Save often :)

i cant believe i enjoyed this game. this is like one of the best games i have ever played. it takes you out of reality and pulls you into its world. I would still advice downloading a walking speed mode tbh otherwise it feels too slow. i almost quit until that
I really enjoyed the game, even without having played the original Gothic. It has everything you need to get lost in its world: great graphics (poorly optimized, but frame generation works exceptionally well), NPCs that feel alive, and highly engaging quests and plot. However, even for a remaster, it lacks some features you would expect from a game nowadays: 1. Frustrating UI & Ergonomics: There is no item sorting, and the inventory is cluttered with garbage. You drop your torch every time you open the inventory. Using keys 1–9 for quick items is awkward, as you rarely press anything past 5 during battle. Additionally, potion drinking animations are poorly paced, forcing you to spam the key because it is unclear when the animation actually finishes before you can start using another one and a lot of similar things 2. Repetitive Combat: While the difficulty creates a great sense of a brutal world, the mechanics exhaust themselves quickly. Enemy attacks are highly scripted with tiny counter-windows, meaning you rarely get to use full combo combinations, especially against multiple opponents. Combat quickly devolves into simply dodging one or two attacks, landing a single combo, and repeating. 3. It might be subjective, but the game seems to lack detailed ambient audio, resulting in a detached feeling between what is happening on screen and what you hear. There may even be deeper underlying audio issues, considering the developers completely broke footstep sounds in the latest patch at the time of writing this review
Einfach nur geil
