God this game is so beautiful. Starting it i thought it was gonna be horror because of the ambiance but nope just beautiful gay happiness! I love how the entire point of the game is just figuring out your own place in this story that's happened while you were gone, because that's true both as Katie and as a player. Sam and Lonnie are gone and wherever they are they are happy. And so am I because this game is so great; you can tell the amount of detail that went into its production. It really feels like you've stepped into a world that wasn't meant for you to figure it out (mainly - other than the journals), it's just there and you're left putting together the pieces. I could rant about this game for a while, but just go play it.
one of the early pioneers of the modern walking simulator. Think it is good to play to see one of the games that started this trend, but I think it's not a great experience nowadays especially on a replay (which took an hour to complete knowing most of the layout from the first playthrough). While What Remains of Edith Finch on replay, I grew to love even more this I just felt annoyed with the walking. If you are going to do a walking sim you gotta have it be smooth as butter. Still, I do like this and appreciate what it did for a genre I have a soft spot for. It's a low 6/10 for me
I first played Gone Home when it was released on the PS4. I really enjoyed it and started seeking out other Walking Sims. I then decided it was time for a replay on my Mac mini. I can confidently say it still holds up and it performs well on Apple silicon using Rosetta 2. My only criticism is that I wished it took a bit longer to complete.
A nice story conveyed in an interesting way
