About
When civilization is decimated by rampant plague, a lucky few emerge from the ashes. Help them settle in a dangerous wilderness reclaimed by nature. Build them a home, shape their lives, and defend them from bandits and beasts in a lawless, realistic post-calamity world. The Dark Age is yours to rebuild.

From three lost travellers to a thriving walled city, build greatness from desolation. Use 3D terrain tools to create the perfect stronghold, from sprawling multi-storey forts to winding underground caverns. Construct, furnish and decorate your chambers, workshops, chapels, libraries and more, using stone, clay, and other gathered materials.

Each settler is a unique character. Consider Grimbold, for example. As a Swineherd, his Animal Handling is second to none. But his personality is Savage, so he’d make a strong Brawler. He likes nice clothes, his religion is dear to him — and he’s hungry. Satisfy Grimbold’s needs, use his talents, and he’ll be a happy settler — key to a happy settlement.

Build impenetrable defenses and set traps against unrelenting waves of raiders. Research and craft medieval tech, arm your settlers and command them in battle. Tailor your strategy to your villager’s skills, and upgrade them through hunting and combat.

Explore your randomly-generated multi-level map and manipulate it to your will. Terraform the earth and water for construction, design, or military strategy. Build up or dig down, go humble or baronial, and use the modding tools to unearth a whole new level of creative freedom.

As it stands I love the gameplay and the style of the game, hell if I could play it for more than 30mins before the poor optimisation causes my Laptop to force shut down it would be a great game. And I know it isn't my laptop that is the problem as I can play games like Cyberpunk, Bannerlord and the modern Total War games with zero overheating issues even if I play them for hours. So if they improve the optimisation, so it doesn't make laptops run hotter than hell, I would be happy to change my review because the small amount of time I can play the game I loved it.
Приятная песочница, играл и на самой высокой сложности и на самой лёгкой, и получил разный и всегда приятный опыт
Как RimWorld, но с возможность строить вверх и вниз. Игра понравилась! Посмотрим как дальше развиваться будет.
Going Medieval reminds me a lot of RimWorld but you have 3D map to make complex buildings and landscapes. The default game gives you the space for you to set your own little goals. Ex.: I had lots of berries that were going bad so I set out to make wine. Well, so of course to get good wine you have to first ferment it, then keep it cool for a long time for it to age. This is all part of the game mechanics. So I needed a wine cellar that is cool all year and hopefully you build yours better than I did as flooded floors do not make good wine storage.. Oh, and make sure to forbid access to the crude stuff as otherwise your ppl. will have drank it all before it ever aged into fine wine. I really like the little details like this, making you have to learn and figure out things. Mid game you do end up with a lot of resources you don't need.. Like how do I get rid of 3000 hay with just 3 goats? Hope a big trade caravan is headed your way soon! At some point having "storage limits" on the total amount, that would be taken into priority of hauling would be a nice future update. But, overall I had great fun so far, I see potential for lots of development in future updates and thus if you like Colony Builder style games, and have a burning need to build a multi-layer Castle over a lake with view of the river, it's time to go Medieval :)
best game ever
I'm only a few hours in and my first attempt failed after a near in game year so I may change my review pending how it goes over the next few hours. For those curious of my possibly temporary score I place this a solid 5 / 10, it is average. My in depth review is as follows: This game is essentially Rimworld but 3D and set in the Medieval era. Considering that this game is not in early access I'm going to be very harsh where possible as the game has had the time it needed in development to be considered finished by the developer. With that said let's dig into the specifics. The game is very complicated with many simultaneous game play features all happening at the same time, some examples -- A plant requires the appropriate temperature, exposure to sunlight, appropriate soil / dirt to be planted on, goes through multiple stages of it's development dependent on what type of plant it is I.E. a tree will start as a sapling and grow until it matures with some trees flowering and producing fruit such as an apple tree and some plants are re-harvestable meaning you do not need to re-plant them before they go through the whole cycle again such as a berry bush which will remain even after harvesting the berries whereas a cabbage must be harvested then the seeds must be planted freshly afterward. This sort of intricacy is not limited to agriculture, there is also cooking using multiple ingredients, animal husbandry and training as well as sheering sheep or milking goats and cows, curdling milk into cheese, fermenting berries, wood working, weapon crafting, tailoring clothes, ubiquitously with colony simulator games like this there is of course an in depth construction system allowing for you to design and build structures as you see fit but be warned for this game adds an even deeper element than Rimworld there is now depth to structures but literally and figuratively. What do I mean? There are 16 layers to the map. You must toggle between the layers to see what is below them with the lowest layer being subterranean which is where you'll find ground water. This depth also applies to structures but there's more for you see structures also have a feature called "stability" where you must have a solid foundation or solid supports to allow for building additional floors on top of the base structure. Translation - If you build a nice one story cottage all is well. If you decide to be ambitious and make a large two to three story Inn you will now need to place several walls at points on the first and second floor in order to keep the structural integrity of the building otherwise entire portions of the floors above will fall immediately and be destroyed. Did I mention this game has a temperature system where your colonists, animals and plants will freeze to death in winter or can be set on fire by fire arrows and the like? What about weather effects such as rain creating mud which slows movement and snow? Note, the game has such a vast wealth of features which is truly commendable, this game is certainly someone's vision and I applaud them for putting as much depth as they have into it but these are my personal issues: The game may have superb depth of features but that is a double edged sword. I enjoy games like this but I admit, it's overwhelming at times. It's frustrating to spend near an hour building a simple two story Inn-like building only to realize you must add columns / walls at various points on the first floor reducing the aesthetic design you were going for on top of the fact that you've consumed an insane quantity of wood and time in making it all for the quality to be abysmal as it's far too small to accomplish what you sought out to make. This is essentially a "skill issue" and I understand that which is why I'm not here to complain excessively I'm merely pointing out it can be confusing, overwhelming and a bit frustrating at times when you've forgotten one of the thirty features which effect your current plan. My very next gripe is admittedly a petty one but I'd argue it's still a very valid one. The game graphically is nothing to write home about which I am entirely happy to ignore HOWEVER, this is a 3D game with various characters performing various actions, with the sheer depth of the game you'd hope for some eye candy so you can sit back and watch your planned structure be built by your colonists but the animations are rudimentary at best. Writhing or wringing your hands in front of the tailoring crafting station is boring to look at. I was hoping to see them take material and at least pretend to work it into a shape of clothing. The butcher's table is them hacking at the table itself rather than the specific animal and POOF there's the meat chopped and portioned all over the floor. How about the bowmaker, something critical for hunting and fending off enemies at range, you'd hope to see them bending the bow or taking the string and s.. no they just fidget a bit and POOF there's the bow. Hauling is another slight disappoint visually. The cop out used by the developer is that the colonists carry a whicker backpack / basket with straps and anything they're carrying is inside with no visual indication as to what it is. You don't see the head of a deer poking out if they're carrying a freshly hunted deer carcass, you don't see clay protruding out of the opening or wood logs tied to their back, it's just.. boring. The soundtrack, it's fine, passable but extremely limited. I felt like I'd heard some of the music before. Lastly combat, combat is oddly satisfying despite the limited animations which I will continue to raise as my main gripe. As is to be expected the combat system is intricate thanks to the variety of weaponry and how armor is effected by different weapons and so on. Despite my gripes, despite my issues and limited game time, would I recommend this game? Certainly. I will add the caveat that 30 dollars is absolutely ludicrous through. 20 would be far more acceptable. Allow me to explain, the game certainly has the depth in features but it is sorely lacking in polish and "make up" to be worth such a price. I'm not content to pay full price for a game like this when it doesn't satisfy every angle imaginable.
Probably the most boring colony sim I've ever played. Beyond its interesting setting and charming visuals, there's just not much of a game. The early days of the colony are just played at X3 speed, which is still excruciatingly slow. On top of that, nights are a drag because X3 is still too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow and there's nothing above it. Both a drag and a shell of a game. Though the focus on combat is nice-ish.
Игра классная залепательная. Но смущает меня одно. Когда я установил игру. Мой комп начал сильно шуметь и нагружаться. С чем это может быть связано?
