Gnarly Hike

A short fun horror/puzzle game. Some decent jump scares and puzzles.

A simple first-person horror game where you wander around a spooky environment looking for clues that let you advance to the next area while maybe being hunted by a gnarly monster. There are puzzles to solve, a few sections with hide/sneak mechanics, and a basic story that kind of pieces it together. There's a "boss" monster that shows up from time to time and lots jump-scares. It's built on the Unreal engine so it's pretty but there's a certain jank to the overall design that puts people off. I didn't encounter any massive bugs but the Checkpoint/Save system is a bit weird. There's also a few sections that rely too heavily on invisible walls but it didn't break anything. I liked it as a low-budget horror movie. It's simple, cheap, and both scary & janky enough to keep me amused.

Das Spiel ist an vielen Stellen etwas 'grobkantig' aber trotzdem gut spielbar, vorallem aber macht es Laune. Ein Kritikpunkt wäre, das man manchmal nicht wirklich weis was man wo machen sollte um voran zu kommen und irrt leider dadurch sinnlos in der Gegend rum bis man wieder den Anschluss findet. Eine Empfehlung ist es trotzdem wert!
